Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - February 18, 2024

Ehlana and Ethan:

This has been an awesome day, and after a couple of late nights; we’re going with an early bedtime – in-part because we also want to be up early for Dad’s trip to the city.

Tai Chi was with Cassie and Michael at their house this morning; breakfast was at Aiden’s with his parents; and then we had a good rest-of-the-morning at church and Sunday school.  An easy-lunch with Mom and Dad didn’t include any extra guests, and then we spent the afternoon at the lab or archives while Dad was busy with his prep work anyway.  We don’t mention Anna Marie very often in our journals, since we don’t really spend much time with her, but should at least mention that she helps Dad with the work too, and in this case; she was at our house for a couple of hours of that work too – though she usually does her own work at the office or home.  Yes, they both occasionally get teased about working together – and their trips to the city, but that is usually all in fun; and nobody that really knows them would actually believe that there could ever be anything romantic between them.

Our work at the lab was fun and productive, and while I worked through several experiments; I’ll concede that Ethan got more done with his archives work; since he finished up one of his projects and we now have a new part of the digital archives that makes some research more-efficient thanks to some cross-referencing that he’s meticulously compiled.

We needed to be home in time to get ready for the late buffet at the Inn and we were definitely there for Cassie and Michael – though Dad enjoys the buffet option ahead of his trips to the city when he mostly eats fast food.  Aiden and Naomi were our semi-official dinner dates – though their families were there too; if not at the same table with us.  The food was as-awesome as always; Cassie and Michael still had more travel stories for us; and his parents and brother and sister-in-law took turns eating with us – along with Sierra and Stuart.  That’s also why Cassie and Michael weren’t with us after we left the Inn because they took their niece and nephew home and took care of them through bedtime and whenever Jake and Stephanie got home from the Inn.

Dad had his work finished by then, so we had a little wrap up visit after taking Silkie for a walk and seeing our dates to their homes; bath or Jacuzzi time followed; and we’ve kept our bedtime computing to a minimum too.  After such a good day I really don’t want to mess with that by commenting on news from around the world, so I’ll save that up for another night when I’m more in the mood for a good rant!  That does mean that we don’t really have anything else to write about, so that’s all; and we’re out of here and off to nap time soon.

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
