Happy Valentine’s Day!
We’re making this a placeholder update because we’re going to be busy for the rest of the day with babysitting at the Ayres’ house while some parents are again out for dinner at the Inn, the party at the pub, or both. Naomi and Aiden will be with us, but Sophia and Aaron are babysitting at her house with next-gen Bassett kids and some other kids of their cousins’ friends.
For now, I’ll only add a few quick details from our day-so-far. Ethan and Aiden were at the top of the list for how well they did with gifts for their girlfriends – at least for our grades. Naomi and I loved our new jewelry, the roses, and special chocolate desserts at lunch that went along with the bonus Pizzeria pizza day. That meal needed to be early for us because of the luncheon and party for the seniors at the church. We also had time to set up in the fellowship hall for both bands this morning; and then getting to entertain many of our favorite grandparents was amazing and a highlight for our day. Naomi and the Holiday Harmonies played two songs; the school band took care of a bit more than half of the music for the dance; and then there were other ‘acts’ helping out for the rest of the dance part of the party. We were busy getting everything back to the school ahead of the bus departures; we hauled our own gear home after that; and now we’re getting ready to head over to the Ayres’ home. We’re planning on a bit of outdoor fun on bikes and at the park for the kids we’ll be taking care of tonight; so we need to meet up with Naomi and Aiden and get there soon. Another babysitting night isn’t going to be romantic, but we are planning on bringing Naomi and Aiden home with us after we’re finished our work for the night; so the co-ed sleepover part of our plan should make for a happy end to our day! We really do need to get going, and Ethan is pointing out to me that I haven’t managed to make this a placeholder report anyway; so it is apparently past-time for me to stop writing and get back to our real-world fun!
