Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - January 26, 2024

Ehlana and Ethan:

***RESTRICTED UPDATE***

Cassie and Michael have fought and defeated the Dark Magi Master that they confronted on their Friday night.  It ended badly when Sabre opted to destroy himself and his yacht instead of accepting defeat, and while Cassie and Michael were able to protect themselves from the blast instead of being ‘taken out’ too; we all continue to hope for better outcomes in these battles – as in we want these Dark Magi to find their way to the Light before it is too late for them.  That obviously didn’t happen with Sabre, and Cassie and Michael regret that, but that won’t dissuade them from their mission.

They do have some unexpected news that Cassie found out right before Sabre died.  He apparently also planned on taking his wealth with him in the explosion, but since Cassie heard those thoughts; she and Michael now know that the majority of Sabre’s ill-gotten gains were on-board his yacht; and they are going to ‘make’ time this weekend to recover the gold, precious gems, and anything else they can salvage from the yacht.  We’ll put that money to better use with our businesses and charities than Sabre ever did; so that will be a bonus that will keep on giving for years to come.

On the not-fun side of the fight, Cassie and Michael assure us that this fight was the worst-so-far for them.  They are not telling a big fish story about the shark that Sabre tried to force to eat them after hurling it at them on the beach from out of the water.  Cassie and Michael managed to both stop that and avoid seriously-injuring the shark, but that does give you an idea of the extremes they faced that ranged from Sabre trying to use animals against them to mental horrors and every kind of power attack available to Dark Magi Masters.  They eventually had a fairly-lengthy chat while Sabre needed a break from the fight; and the end that came with the big explosion happened after Sabre implemented his last, biggest attack on them that included military-grade weapons that were apparently on his yacht for personal protection from mundane dangers like pirates as well as for his own, occasional piracy opportunities.  Sabre was back on his yacht by then; Cassie and Michael had locked onto his Magi-powered attacks and were draining him; and he blew up his yacht to keep them from completely draining him.

Cassie suspects that Sabre expected to be able to protect himself and survive the blast, but by then, he didn’t have enough power left to shield himself and do that – though that is just a suspicion; since it wouldn’t be the Dark Magi Master way to try and escape from a Magi fight that way.  Even if he’d managed to do that, he wouldn’t have been able to trick Cassie and Michael into thinking he was dead, but it is also possible that Sabre wouldn’t know that about Magi of the Light.

Instead of rolling along with more speculation; let’s wrap this up and you can get all of the details directly from Cassie and Michael in their sections of the archives instead of second-hand from us.  We’re grateful that they defeated Sabre and didn’t get hurt at all in the fight; we’ll think about ways that we might help them to do better with getting the Dark Magi Masters they defeat to take their second chances at saving their souls more-seriously; and continue to hope for better in the future.

***END OF RESTRICTED UPDATE***

Ethan and I are only going with a micro-update today because we’re currently getting ready for a night at Naomi’s with our best friends – including Sophia and Aaron.  Naomi is hosting tonight because her parents suggested that she take more turns with the co-ed sleepovers at their house; and we’re fairly-sure that officially being a teen has nothing to do with that request!  The ‘mid-term’ exams and tests are finished at school; the high school teens are celebrating; and we’re going to play for the rest of the day too – though we are also going to have a band practice to continue getting ready for the school dance and the seniors’ luncheon we’ll be playing at around Valentine’s Day.

The details for the rest of our adventures can wait for our next report.  We’ll be helping out with cooking dinner and don’t want to be late; so we’re out of here!

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
