Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - March 6, 2023

Ethan and Ehlana:

We just finished up a future plans meeting; and that is definitely the top news of the day.

Before we get to that, our first school day of the week was pretty good.  We had a test and quiz, but there was also some outdoor time; so we had a lot of fun.  The high for today wasn’t quite as great as Sunday, but still topped sixty; so we biked and played with our friends after school instead of going to the lab.  That was fun; we followed that up with an easy-dinner with Mom and Dad; and then we took care of the clean-up and helped to get ready for that meeting with some of our favorite Magi.

It has been quite a while since we’ve written about these meetings in our journal.  We’re doing that tonight because we’re very excited about the nearing-future that includes having Cassie and Michael come home to stay.  That’s only one tiny part of our planning, but it is one of the most-important for us; and that’s true for the bigger picture too.  The update for their new house was good news, and we’ll be doing some work over there during our spring breaks.  The bigger story tonight, though, was the plans that Cassie and Michael have for their new jobs and starting to meet and defeat Dark Magi Masters.  Their first trip will be this summer; and they’ll be in China for a month.  The family business and charity projects that they’ll be working on and visiting are amazing; and it is both exciting and scary to know that their first confrontation with our enemies is now just months away.  Most of the adults in the loop for these plans are really worried about taking this next step toward the Ascension of the Light, but it is going to happen; and Cassie and Michael are meant to lead the way.  We’ll have details during their trips, but don’t need to do that now.

For other local plans, we can report that the most-boring plans include infrastructure upgrades – at least from our perspective.  We appreciate all of the conveniences that go along with all basic utilities, and don’t really want to get into the ‘dirty’ details – especially when it comes to things like sewage and treatment systems!  We do like the continuing plans to extend our trail system south to hook up with the west-east rail trail south of here, and by the time it is completed; we’ll be at the perfect age for multi-day biking and camping adventures!  We don’t have any major changes happening this year for new businesses in town, but we really need some time to grow into the recent changes anyway; and there are changes happening in the background – especially for many of the farms in the region.  We’ll love the additions on the way for Quarry Lake too – though that is going to be comparatively-minor with a new playground and outdoor games.

On the larger scale, Cassie and Michael will only be part of the new work we’re going to do around the world.  More volunteers are signing up to either help out from home or travel.  This is probably a good point to mention that we can do that because our family business is growing and successful; so we can take those new resources and use them to help more people as well as continue to grow so that we’ll be able to keep expanding both with our businesses and charities.  Some people might not get that, but the charities wouldn’t exist without the successful businesses; and then there’s also the fact that we can help a lot of people directly through our businesses whether that’s with good jobs or all of the other ways we help others.

There are other favorite stories we went over tonight, but too-many to cover them all – especially when those details are available elsewhere in the archives anyway.  We do want to mention that we’re looking forward to having Jillian and Julian move home to stay; and Jillian will be joining the lab team too!  We don’t have any direct involvement in Dawn’s upcoming job as a cargo pilot, but can report that she’ll be starting her commercial career with a company that our family businesses and charities work with; and she’ll be able to get a lot of international flying time and experience that will help her to get to her dream job flying the biggest commercial passenger jets!  We won’t get to see Dawn as often because she’ll be based in St. Louis for her new job, but that at least is better than if she’d decided to move to one of the bigger cities and airline hubs.

It’s funny that we didn’t start the collegian update with Rowen and Tim!  We are really glad that they’ll be home too; and their families are really happy to have the extra help at the computer store and auto and farm equipment shop.  Our four favorite collegians will also have the rest of their school classmates coming home too; they’ll all have the rest of their friends that either stayed at home or graduated last year to hang out with; and they’re all sure to have a lot of fun this summer!  We’ll probably have more on at least some of those friends in the coming months, but we’ve had enough for today; and need to wrap this up and get some sleep.

After the meeting wrapped up and our guests went home, Ehlana and I needed bath or Jacuzzi time; and now it is getting late as we finish with our bedtime twin chat and computing.  This has been a really good day.  We can’t help but be fired-up about our future; and we’re ready for all of the awesome coming our way for the rest of the year and beyond!  Stay tuned for all of that future news; and we’ll go get some sleep!

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
