Happy 16th Birthday, Kara Johnson!
We don’t have any news from her special day, but having her birthday while on spring break is probably good for her – even though it has been cold today without much of a warm-up at all – barely above freezing.
That’s why our day has mostly been indoors. We were up early to see Dad off on his trip to the city; we followed that up with a nap; and then got started again at our regular time with Tai Chi and a standard weekday breakfast. Having a cold day definitely affected our plans, but Mom was going to draft us to help out at Cassie and Michael’s new house anyway; so we really just spent some extra time there today and hoped for warmer days to come for outdoor play time with our friends. The house is basically done now except for some landscaping and a storage barn that will be worked on between now and May. Our work in the house was all about getting it ready for decorating and furniture, and while the construction crews did a great job with their clean-up; even empty houses still need to be cleaned regularly – and we’ll be in on doing that until Cassie and Michael move in. Naomi and Aiden helped out for a couple of hours too after doing some work at their own homes; we all had lunch with Mom at around one-thirty; and then we went to play at the lab or archives – again in hopes of taking time off to play later this week.
That brings us to now, and the update is early because we feel like getting it out of the way. We don’t have major plans for tonight, but Naomi and Aiden are coming back for dinner and the rest of the night; so we’re looking forward to hanging out with them and the co-ed sofa sleepover end to our day! We will let you know how that goes for us with the next report, but that’s all for this one, and we need to go help Mom with cooking dinner while waiting for our best friends to return with overnight bags; so we’re out of here.
