Happy 30th Birthday, Isabelle Jennings!
We have heard that Isabelle is having an awesome day; and got some of that news while at the Inn for the late buffet with most of our local family and some friends. We had a family gift for her too; and delivered that while at church this morning. Our report is not coming at you in order, but since we were in the city while writing our last update; we need to explain that we made an early-morning decision to head for home in time for church. We skipped Tai Chi; packed up and checked out; and picked up breakfast to go on the way to the highway. We got home in time to unload vehicles and get changed for church; the rest of our morning was a blast – especially for Cassie and Michael; and then we had a small gang at the house for lunch as a partial welcome home meal for our favorite collegians.
It warmed up a bit today, but not much above freezing after another very chilly night. We didn’t really want to play outdoors because of that, but then we were busy for part of the afternoon while going along with Cassie and Michael to check out their new house; we checked in at the lab or archives after that while Cassie and Michael spent some time with his family; and we had a band practice with Naomi and Aiden while waiting to go to the Inn for dinner. We’ve had a quiet last evening of our spring break; and that was mostly because Cassie and Michael have been out and doing visits at the Norton farm and currently with Jake and his family. We may get to do a bedtime visit with them, but that’ll depend on when they get back here for the rest of the night.
That’s all of our news for today, so we only need to add the basics from last night. Our dinner was amazing and at the Bistro, and while our favorite chefs are at the Inn; the Bistro has a very talented team too; and they offer different specialties that we all love a lot. We caught a movie after that; we won’t comment on it; and we are at least temporarily-glad that regular movie-going isn’t an option for us! We returned to the hotel with a quick stop for a bedtime snack to bring back with us; and yes, we did end our night with co-ed sleepovers for all four couples. The tween couples were in one room; and we were allowed to get away with pretending that we fell asleep in the girls’ room while not really watching a movie and cuddling in the double beds. That worked for us, and while that was probably a waste of the extra hotel room last night; we were still glad that we had two bathrooms available for us this morning.
That’s enough for tonight. We wish that we weren’t going to be back at school while Cassie and Michael are home, but we’ll deal with that; and they’ll be very busy anyway between school work, their house, and spending time with family and friends.
