Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - March 4, 2023

Ethan and Ehlana:

We’re going with another early update because our fun-with-friends’ adventures are about to resume; and that is going to included another co-ed sleepover – this time at Aiden’s house.  Mom and Dad are really appreciating all of the kid-free time; and we will not write about anything that might explain why they are so happy today! ;^)

Moving along, once we were ready to go yesterday afternoon, we headed over to Naomi’s; dropped off our bags; and then hit the trails for a while along with some other friends and cousins that were doing the same.  Since it wasn’t as warm as it has been lately, we only biked for about an hour; and then we returned to Naomi’s house to warm up and then help her Dad with making dinner.  That was fun, but Zack and Eli were together and at the Seagers last night too; so dinner got a bit weird and wasn’t at all funny for Naomi and Ehlana.  Sometimes it just isn’t possible to get Zack and Eli to figure it out when they go too far; and last night was one of those times.

We only had seven for dinner because Naomi’s Mom was working, but we packed up a dinner for Liz and Vicky; and Naomi’s Dad delivered it to the salon.  We – the tweens – took care of the clean-up, and didn’t really mind not getting any help; since that also meant getting a break from the pranksters in the house.

Aiden and I tried to mitigate the annoyances with Zack and Eli with some video gaming, but that didn’t really work; and we had to put some effort into playing nice with them – especially when they really seemed to feel the need to do their worst to Naomi and Ehlana.  We can’t really report that we had a best-ever kind of evening; and maybe that’s news when we can’t really report that very often.  Movie time was a mess – including for the movie we tried to watch with Naomi’s parents after Liz got home from the salon.  She’d had a very long work day; was tired; and gave up on the movie and went to bed after only the second prank from Zack and Eli.

Note to all kids – sometimes it is worse when the parents go silent and put themselves to bed instead of losing it on you.

Zack and Eli didn’t get that clue, and with the parents out of the way; they rolled on with their idea of awesome fun until one of their pranks backfired; and then they both wanted and needed to escape.  They left us alone after that too; and I will not confirm or deny anything about who might have been responsible for that prank failure! ;^)

Moving along, we definitely had a happy end to our night with some quiet and quality co-ed cuddle time; the co-ed sofa sleepover was a highlight for all four of us; and we were not interrupted for the rest of the night.

Tai Chi was indoors this morning; we took care of the cooking and cleaning on either side of breakfast; and weren’t bugged by Zack and Eli at all – possibly because they were still getting over the bad ending to their night.  That worked for us, and since then; we’ve kept busy with chores at three homes through to now.  Mom and Dad hosted a late lunch for six and while Ehlana and I are re-packing for the sleepover at Aiden’s house; Naomi is doing the same at her place; and Aiden is checking in with his parents at the bakery.  We’ll be meeting up again at his house soon; so we need to wrap this up and get going.

Our first sleepover wasn’t a best-ever, but we’re hoping for more tonight; and that’s practically a sure thing without Zack and Eli around to re-group and try again tonight.  The weather is decent this afternoon too, so we’ll be out biking and playing at the park again soon, but the rest of the news for today will need to wait for our next report.

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
