Ethan and Ehlana:
The top news of the day is the kids’ Christmas shopping trip, and thanks to another drop back into freezing temperatures; it felt like Christmas in the air – for the few times we were outdoors today. After waking from our co-ed sofa sleepover fun, we opted to skip Tai Chi; got ready for the day; and headed over to the Inn for the special buffet breakfast with a lot of our favorite people. While that meal was awesome, our top story from before we hit the road for Crystal Springs was all about Mom not going on this trip with us! Yes, some of the fathers – including ours – stepped up to chaperone this trip while some of the Moms took the day off! Mom and Aunt Leanne still organized the trip and made sure that everyone left in the correct groups, but then Mom was happy for the break while Aunt Leanne still came along to the city. The trip to the city was quick and fun; and then we got right to the shopping!
Dad officially had us, Naomi, Aiden, Sophia, and Aaron While in his group, but we also did our own thing for a lot of the day; and Dad spent as much time helping Uncle Adam and Naomi’s Dad with Zack, Eli, and the gang of their friends that were grouped together for the day. If there was a prize for toughest group to watch; we all know which fathers would have won that award today! We shopped the mall until one o’clock; had lunch in the food court; and then we were part of the groups that visited our favorite big box toy store, and electronics store, and Wal-Mart. That kept us busy until a bit after seven o’clock; we were among the last hometown groups to leave the city; and we picked up fast food to go on the way out of town.
That late departure didn’t get us home until after nine o’clock; Dad had deliveries to make with his truck before we got home; and then there was more work to do with unloading our own purchases to various parts of the house before we could do a bedtime snack and drink with Mom. While we were away, Mom had a long visit to the salon; shopped with some friends – including Miranda, Patricia, Liz, and Hannah; and she did some family business work and had a nap with Silkie in the afternoon. We are not doing another sleepover with our best friends because their families want them for at least a little visit now and then; and after such a long, busy day of shopping; we’re ready to crash and nap now anyway. Bath or Jacuzzi time was needed first, so it is also getting late; and that’s why we’re at the end of this report and out of here!
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
