Happy 7th Birthday, Katie Taylor!
Brianna and Faith have been helping their friend to have a happy day, but we didn’t; and our day has been quiet by comparison. Sure, there was the usual post-dance drama and gossip with both good and bad news making the rounds, but our academic adventures were uneventful; since we’re really just winding down toward the Christmas break. There were music practices for the concert; holiday crafts, and a Christmas-themed science show for some of the entertainment; and then the rest of our school day was spent doing math, reading, and a writing assignment – with none of that being newsworthy. We should mention that Naomi and the Holiday Harmonies earned some of that ‘good’ gossip attention, but we played it cool; and won’t let our egos get inflated at all. ;^)
Moving along, we did our band practice after school – and after a snack break with Mom, Cassie, and Michael; and then Naomi and Aiden went home; Cassie and Michael had plans for the rest of the evening with his family; and we followed up a quiet dinner with Mom and Dad with a few hours of play time at the lab or archives. That was all really great too, but not newsworthy either; so there is only one more bit of potential news to cover for this report. The weather forecast is looking a bit nasty for the end of the week; so contingency plans are ready if that stays the same or worsens as we get closer to the deep freeze and snow that could be here by Thursday. We’ll have more on this if needed, but the quick version of those plans include moving the school Christmas concert up a day and closing the school on Thursday and Friday; since they are really only play days anyway. We’d be okay with bonus days tacked on to our Christmas break, but the weather could be a problem for our weekend guests – which this year will be the Johnson clan. Some of our favorite people are booked to travel other places too, and we don’t want a storm to mess that up for them either; so we’ll hope for the best for everyone.
