Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - December 20, 2022

Ethan and Ehlana:

We’ve had a very busy, awesome day; so let’s get right to the news!

For our academic adventures, the highlight wasn’t at school – it was at the church where we ended up doing two songs for the seniors’ Christmas luncheon.  We had a blast with that; with getting to hang out with the teens in the school band that took care of most of the entertainment; and we didn’t miss out on anything exciting at school because our classmates were drafted to help with setting up the gym for the Christmas concert that was officially moved up to Wednesday afternoon as the storm forecast has firmed up for a Thursday morning arrival.  With wind chill potentials nearing forty below, this won’t be something to take lightly regardless of the names used in the news to describe the storm and cold; so we’ll also be ready for whatever comes – including helping our neighbors if needed.

While the luncheon and music were the school day highlights; our fun continued after school because we helped with decorating one of the dining rooms at the Inn for the joint BMR labs and Proctor businesses Christmas dinner.  We had dates for the dinner too; and even getting teased about that – as usual – only added to all of the awesome!  Mom, Dad, Aunt Grace, and Violet got to have the most fun with handing out bonuses and gifts, but everyone at the dinner had an awesome evening; and we really loved being there with Naomi, Aiden, and most of our cousins and a few of their friends too.  The meal and entertainment took nearly three hours plus the set-up and clean-up times; so we didn’t get home until a bit after ten o’clock.  Bath or Jacuzzi time followed soon after that; we had a bedtime snack and visit with Mom, Dad, Cassie, and Michael; and now we’re really ready to crash and nap so that we’ll be ready for the Christmas concert tomorrow and the after-school prep work we’ll be drafted for to get the house ready for the big storm.

While we do that; here are our favorite versions of the two songs we played at the seniors’ luncheon.  Have fun with the musical interlude while we get that much-needed sleep!
