Ethan and Ehlana:
Happy 5th Anniversary, Malcolm and Nadine Sinclair!
Happy 2nd Birthday, James Johnson!
While some of our Johnson clan cousins are celebrating special days; we didn’t have any personal involvement in those events beyond family gifts and messaged best wishes.
Our day has been pretty good; so let’s get to the news for that – starting with the rest of the story from yesterday.
The birthday dinner at the Inn was the entertainment highlight for me, and while it was great for Ehlana too; she picks the party and sleepover with Sophia and their friends as the best part of her day. There wasn’t a special buffet for that meal, but there were special entrees; and we each tried one of them – sharing so that we could each try two of those gourmet foods. We weren’t officially on dates last night, but were together in couples at one of the ‘kid’ tables that were assigned for Sophia and her party guests. Our friends generally picked ‘normal’ kid foods for dinner; there weren’t any major food games from the guys with so many adults in the room; and then we all loved the two cake choices and other dessert options while also doing the rest of the birthday fun for Sophia and Stephanie. Sophia had more gifts to open; Stephanie got roasted while Sophia basically didn’t have that happen at all; and we all had a really happy couple of hours together.
Sophia and her sleepover guests headed home after dinner instead of staying for game night; I went home with Mom and Dad instead of staying for game night because Dad wants to get ahead on his work so that he doesn’t need to do much on the weekend; and we worked or studied in the office through until my comparatively-early bedtime. While I got lots of sleep; Ehlana and her friends stayed up late; watched movies; listened to music; and had a lot of girl-chat time before eventually having naps starting at various times after midnight. That had a lot to do with why Mom, Dad, and I were on our own for Tai Chi this morning, but breakfast-time at Sophia’s house was definitely more-fun than it was at our house – including the special breakfast they got to enjoy while we went with the standard weekday morning fare.
It wasn’t really hot out today, but still warm and occasionally-sunny; so we spent some extra time outdoors at school; there was some Mother’s Day crafting that we collectively finished up with today; and then our after-school adventures included biking the new Quarry Lake trail with our friends. We didn’t make the full round-trip because we didn’t all have time to do that – or the interest in biking faster; so we were home in-time to help Mom with some of the dinner work. We didn’t have a big gang over for that meal – only Grandma, Grandpa, the Carringtons, Naomi, and Aiden. Uncle Adam was done at the clinic in decent time, so we were able to enjoy our dinner earlier than usual for Friday nights; and we were all in the dining room instead of split up like we often are when having the bigger gangs over for meals. We just finished with the clean-up; and this update is being multi-tasked with getting rooms and the lounge ready for a sleepover.
That wasn’t a planned event – Mom and Dad offered to take Zack and Brianna for the night to give our aunt and uncle a kid-free night because they don’t want to do that tomorrow night ahead of Mother’s Day; and we’ve added Eli, Naomi, and Aiden to the guest list. Our cousins and friends are currently getting overnight bags ready at their own homes; and we’ll be splitting the rest of the evening between video gaming and a movie. Ehlana and Naomi might not last too-long tonight after a late night last night, but we’ll let you know how that goes for all of us with the next report.
For now, that’s all we have; and we need to get our work done; so we’re out of here and back to that work and then the rest of our adventures with our family and friends!
Until next time, this little blast from your near or distant past is written for you with love from Ethan and Ehlana Proctor – twin junior Magi Masters of the Light!
