Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - May 3, 2022

Ethan and Ehlana:

Our top news of the day is that baseball practices began – and our Tuesdays after school will be busy – whenever weather permits – over the next four months.

The baseball fun began at four o’clock with the practice for Caleb, Sebastian, and their team.  Uncle Nick and Uncle Mark are going to co-coach the team; and we helped out with some support for our cousins and keeping other, younger kids entertained too.  Pizzeria pizza was picked up for our picnic dinner, and we were among the first to eat because our own practices started at five-thirty.  All of our ‘family’ practices are at the park on Tuesdays; and our coaching parents got to set that up for convenience because the schedule also worked for other coaches and team players that preferred other practice days.

We had decent weather today after all of the rain yesterday, and while it only warmed up into the low-sixties; that was still comfortable-enough for playing ball.  This season is going to be different for us because we have younger cousins on our teams – a first because of the season we missed due to the pandemic.  Ehlana and Naomi have Leah and Hailey on their team this year while Aiden and I have the tougher challenge with Zack and Eli on our team.  Our favorite pranksters could have played another season with the six-to-eight boys since they won’t be nine until this fall, but more than half of their classmates are or will be nine before the end of the summer; so they chose to play in our division instead.  If our practice today is any indication; the prospects for our team this season might not be very good; since Zack and Eli were definitely more-interested in entertaining everyone than in seriously playing baseball.

We had fun this afternoon; needed bath or Jacuzzi time when we got home before trying to do any work in the office; and then that work and a Magi lesson kept us busy until Mom sent us up to bed a half-hour ago.  Even with some time-phasing to get more done, it is still late; so that’s all we have for tonight.  We don’t have a lot of time to sleep tonight, and still have three more busy days ahead of us before the weekend; so we’re going to crash and nap while we can – starting right now!

Until next time, this little blast from your near or distant past is written for you with love from Ethan and Ehlana Proctor – twin junior Magi Masters of the Light!
