Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - May 29, 2022

Ethan and Ehlana:

We’re currently getting ready for the late buffet at the Inn, but instead of trying a full three-day update tomorrow night after our guests head home; let’s at least cover a few of the weekend-so-far highlights.

Saturday included a crazy-busy blast of adventures from the early-morning Tai Chi by the river with extra exercise buddies and a handful of spectators through to when we crashed and napped in the wee hours of today.  We had a couple of hours of Galleria shopping in the morning; a play afternoon at Quarry Lake with a huge gang of family and friends that included biking there and back for a smaller gang of older kids, teens, and a few adult chaperones that included Cassie one way and Michael on the return trip while they also helped out with transport and kid control for younger kids.  We had lunch at Quarry Lake; played in and around the lakes most of the time; and got home on our bikes shortly before the barbeque dinner began.  There was another evening of play that included canoeing and a cold dip in the river that only a few of us actually hopped in for – and didn’t do for long; and then the campfire was again the entertainment option for the evening.

While the campfire was at the Carringtons, we split up and had two campgrounds last night – and will do that again tonight.  We hosted the teen-tween campsite in our back yard; got teased about that a lot for choosing to do that with the teen couples; and don’t have a problem with getting away with co-ed camping – and doing that more-easily than our teen cousins and friends! ;^)  Cassie, Michael, and Dawn got hugged and dimpled into camping with the younger kids for one night – last night; and we’re fairly-sure that we had more fun than they did thanks to Zack, Eli, and some of the other guys having too-much fun with their prank attempts.  Yes, they raided our camp twice too, but that wasn’t really a problem; and the girls in our camp successfully ran them off with the usual threats that work on younger boys.  We stayed up too-late again last night; so we really only had time for a nap while enjoying that co-ed cuddle time.

For today, we had a smaller group for Tai Chi by the river – at our house; we stayed split up for breakfast; and then that also made getting everyone ready for church easier too.  That service was at the park, so we loved that – and all of the teen-led music.  Mom and Dad hosted the barbeque lunch today; and then our afternoon entertainment options included a canoe ride or a trail ride at the ranch.  We – and Naomi and Aiden – opted for the trail ride; we had fun with that; and now we really needed the shower and clean-up time after the ride, some park biking, and two short swims in the river.  That’s also enough for now, since we need to get going again; so we’ll try to cover more of the family news with our final holiday weekend update tomorrow night.

Until next time, this little blast from your near or distant past is written for you with love from Ethan and Ehlana Proctor – twin junior Magi Masters of the Light!
