Ethan and Ehlana:
Congratulations, Rebecca, Lucas, and the Stone and Norton clans – it’s a boy! Luke Norton arrived early this morning; and his birthing jokes include stories about how Jen and Garrett’s anniversary celebration led to Rebecca going into labor! We’ll cover all of that story soon; but let’s cover all of the news for this double update.
Happy 4th Anniversary, Mitch and Lynn Bassett!
We’ll get to that news too; though Mitch and Lynn’s special day took a back seat to their newest cousin’s birth. For our story, we loved starting Wednesday with Tai Chi by the river that Cassie and Michael joined us; and then the fun continued through breakfast and then on as we headed off to school. Our academic adventures weren’t really newsworthy; the afternoon biking with our friends was great; and then the big anniversary dinner really was all about babysitting younger kids for us – and for Naomi, Aiden, and Sophia – while Garrett and Jen celebrated and enjoyed the special meal with their families and friends.
Mom’s trip to the city needs to be mentioned too; so let’s fit that in here. Picking Wednesday for her night in Crystal Springs with Dad – and a dinner with the Malloys – was last-minute; and set up after Cassie confirmed when she’d be home. As usual, Mom did some shopping for supplies and gifts for upcoming special dates; Mom and Dad enjoyed their visit with the Malloys; and we didn’t get any details from the rest of their night together. They definitely had fun; and we really don’t need those details! ;^)
Our plans for last night included a sleepover with Naomi, Aiden, Sophia, and Sierra that Cassie and Michael were going to supervise. We even got started on that after coming home from the Inn; and then we all headed for the clinic when the call came in to let us know that Rebecca had gone into labor. The next handful of hours were very interesting as we continued helping with babysitting toddlers and babies; and it was only weird because we didn’t need to offer Magi support because Luke isn’t a Magi too. That’s a topic for another time; though we did learn a bit tonight that is related to strong latency among Magi descendents and why some babies don’t make the leap to having active Magi talents.
We only stayed at the clinic until shortly after Luke was born; Cassie and Michael had help with getting us home again; and then we had a nap for a few hours until we needed to get up and going again this morning. Having extra exercise buddies for Tai Chi by the river was awesome; the weather today has been amazing and hot; and that led to extra outdoor time at school and another round of biking with our friends – this time on the trail toward Quarry Lake. We had a short after-school visit with Mom before that biking; we got home in time for dinner that was only with Mom while Cassie and Michael were busy with his family – and both the new baby and Mitch and Lynn’s celebration. We still went to the Inn for game night, since Miranda wanted Mom to team up with her for their usual monthly game night victory; we had fun with that; and then we came home with Mom to do some work in the office before wrapping up our day with bath or Jacuzzi time.
Cassie and Michael are still busy with his family – helping out with all babies and toddlers; so we don’t expect them back home before we crash for the night – which we’re ready to do now. They need that time with the kids because they also need to head out tomorrow for a wedding this weekend, but we can write about that with the next few updates, and we really are tired and need to get some sleep now; so that’s all for this report.
Until next time, this little blast from your near or distant past is written for you with love from Ethan and Ehlana Proctor – twin junior Magi Masters of the Light!
