Happy 18th Birthday, Jillian!
Ethan:
This isn’t going to be a double update
because it’s only been a bit more than twenty-four hours since the last one;
and we’re writing afternoon reports again because we’re in-transit between
sleepovers with the bonus night together at Naomi’s house. Ehlana and I were together most of that time;
so I’m going to leave this report to her.
Ethan – out!

Ehlana:
Ethan’s only doing that to avoid writing
about the story related to Jillian’s birthday that will likely be news – and fun
– tomorrow at church. We’re only
mentioning Jillian’s birthday in our journal because of that news – and it is
related to our home because she’s celebrating her birthday with Julian
Sparks! We might get more details from
Cassie in the morning, but Jillian and Julian are at the same college – thanks to
a bit of nudging that we haven’t written about here; they’ve been hanging out
together a fair bit while missing their respective homes – and since Jillian
isn’t at college with Dawn; and their birthday adventures today is an official
date for them. That’s likely Jillian’s
favorite birthday gift, but I’ll keep you posted on that too as more news is
provided.
Let’s move on to the news from home.
After moving over to Aiden’s house for the
night yesterday afternoon, we still had time to play for a couple of hours
before Aiden’s Dad came home from the bakery and we helped out with a
finger-foods dinner-for-seven. Unlike at
Naomi’s house; we were happy to have Hailey and Leah with us for the night; and
that worked out great too when a camping night in the family room was approved
for the six of us to go along with the video gaming and Christmas movie
marathon. Dinner and the follow-up
cleaning was fun; the video games were played until Hannah got home from the
bakery; and then Aiden’s parents only managed to stay with us for the first,
animated Christmas cartoon before heading for bed and leaving Hailey and Leah
in charge to supervise the two couples still in the room.
The girls had fun with that, but in an
entertaining way; we settled in to continue the show-watching; and they were
sleeping by the end of the end of the third animated short. We switched to Christmas chick flicks after
that, but both of them involved music; and our favorite boys were happy to go
along with our picks – and enjoy the cuddle time with us. We stayed awake too-late, but loved that time
together; and then two of us split up into sleeping bags for the rest of the
night while Ethan and Naomi may as well have been in the same sleeping bag
while cuddling together and having that nap.
It was near-freezing this morning, but we
still went out to the river for Tai Chi; we had a hot breakfast plus bakery
treats with Hannah; and she had some fun with us thanks to the pictures that
Aiden’s Dad took of us before heading to the bakery a few hours before
dawn. Okay, that was mostly about Ethan
and Naomi, but Aiden’s Mom has a sense of humor that can be a bit surprising
and unexpected coming from the Mom that kids would vote for if there was a
contest for most-cute-and-adorable.
We needed to get to work after that – which
for Ethan and I began with doing our chores at home for most of the morning. This won’t be our last fall clean-up, since
there is work that can’t be done until Dad’s home again, but we are running out
of leaves to clean up; and we’re glad of that.
Ryan and a couple of his buddies helped out again too – and they’re
still using our lawn tractor to work on multiple yards again this week, but
that really does work out for us; and it’ll still be a few more years before we’ll
be allowed to take over jobs that include major lawn care equipment. When we were done at home; we moved on to
help Aiden at his house until we stopped for a late lunch; the three of us
moved on to help Naomi at her house after that; and we just finished up all of
our chores about a half hour ago.
The change in plans to the co-ed sleepover
was approved this afternoon; and the only down-side is that we’ll have Zack and
Eli with us too – mostly because Naomi’s parents ended up with a kid-free night
last night while Eli ended up staying with Zack. I don’t think that the parents are colluding
for those kid-free nights, but it is working out that way for many of them; so
they’re generally happy too.
Ethan and I are currently at home because
we brought most of our things home; we’re getting cleaned up here too instead
of causing bathroom traffic jams and extra laundry at Aiden’s or Naomi’s houses;
and now we’re about ready to head over to Naomi’s with just the basic
necessities we’ll need for one more sleepover.
The rest of the news for today will have to wait for the next report,
but we are planning on having fun with our last night before Mom and Dad get
home tomorrow night.
We have a dinner to get to next, so I guess
that’s all for now – and I’ll save up the next updates for Mom, Dad, Cassie,
and Michael for tomorrow night too – though Cassie and Michael are mostly
having a study weekend without a lot of entertainment on the schedule other
than another sports night at the Rec Center.
They’re getting closer to their fall break at Thanksgiving, though; so I’m
good with their plans to get as much work done as they can now if it’ll mean
they have more free time to play while home for Thanksgiving.
Okay, it really is time to get going; so I’m
out of here; and back to the real world and all of the fun we’re going to have
tonight.
This is Ehlana Proctor; coming to you live
from what is now my past!
