Happy 12th Birthday, Kaitlyn!
Ethan:
The Everetts left after our dinner and
movie night to spend today with Kaitlyn and Aunt Grace’s family – mostly doing
that so the kids would sleep during the entire trip there. We would have loved going along, but that
wasn’t really an option; and I’m really glad that we stayed for our sleepover.
Yes, I’m totally admitting that because
Naomi and I fell asleep on the sofa and were left there for the night, but as
always, we’re only eight; so it really shouldn’t be a big deal for anyone.
Our dinner and Christmas movie with our
family and best friends was great; and even Zack kept his pranks and jokes to a
minimum – supposedly because he’s trying to ‘game’ the Santa system. Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday planning
was part of the dinner chat time, so that was fun too; and this year is going
to be different thanks to the mid-week holidays for Christmas and New Year’s
Day. The Christmas movie was kid-rated
and a comedy; we helped out with getting Caleb and Faith settled into their car
for their night-time trip and weekend adventure; and then the rest of our
guests headed home for the night too.
Mom and Dad had four helpers for the post-movie clean-up; they moved on
to do some work in the office; and we went up to the lounge to watch more shows
once we split up to get ready for bed.
The Christmas chick flicks included lots of
music, so Aiden and I were happy with that – and the cuddle time with our
girlfriends. Naomi and I fell asleep
during the second movie, and while Mom and Dad let all four of us camp in the
lounge; Mom took pictures; and we got teased about the sofa sleepover for a lot
of today.
Tai Chi and breakfast made for a great
start to our day, but then Naomi and Aiden headed home or to the bakery; and
Ehlana and I spent the day doing chores around the house and yard. This was our last big clean-up for the fall;
and we were lucky to get another warmer-weather day for all of that outdoor
work. We took some breaks, but kept
going until after-dark before stopping and having a late, pizzeria pizza
dinner. Bath or Jacuzzi time was
required after that; Ehlana and I watched another show in the lounge while
having a wind-down bedtime chat; and now it’s time for me to get some sleep –
so I will.
Ethan – out!

Ehlana:
I love my Jacuzzi! ;^)
I also love our family and friends; we
really did have an awesome Friday night and start to our day today; and the chores
are part of life that we made the best of while at least getting to spend all
of that time with Mom and Dad. This may
not have been the most-exciting of Saturdays, but the last big fall clean-up
always means that it’s nearly time for our favorite end-of-year celebrations
and holidays; so I’m feeling really happy tonight – and tired.
It isn’t all that late yet, but I’m going
to wrap this up; take the happy along with me into dreamland; and get rested up
for the second-half of our weekend. That
isn’t going to be filled with extreme excitement either because Dad still has a
lot to do ahead of his week in the city.
I can write about that tomorrow night, though, and don’t have anything
to add for this update; so I’ll move on to that nap time now.
This is Ehlana Proctor; coming to you live
from what is now my past!
