Ethan:
Thanks to some rain this afternoon,
watching the midway rides being assembled was not as much fun as we’d hoped it
would be today. Skipping that annual
activity with our friends wasn’t an option, though, so instead of staying warm
and dry at the lab and archives; we did our normal kid duties and went to the
park with our friends to watch the action that didn’t really even get slowed
down much by the showers – though the workers did need to take more care with
wet equipment and tools while doing their jobs.
They do know what they’re doing, and are likely used to all sorts of
weather; so there is zero chance that the midway won’t be ready on-time for the
start of the festival on Friday morning – even though some of our classmates
are worried about that.
I’m more-worried about the weather forecast
for Friday, since there is a good chance that it will be cold and wet, but the
rest of the weekend is looking good and at least fall-weather warm; so I won’t
say more about that.
While we didn’t play at the lab today, we
did still have a work or study evening in the office with Mom and Dad after
dinner – and once we got changed and dry from our play time at the park; so
there isn’t anything else of newsworthiness to add; I’ve had enough fun for
today; and am going to crash and nap now.
Ethan – out!

Ehlana:
The girls in our group spent most of our
time at the park under umbrellas except for the breaks in the rain showers, but
everything was wet; we did not find standing around or sitting on our bikes
while watching the rides being assembled much fun – at least compared to the
guys that are most into that sort of thing; and we were glad to go home. Most boys do not understand the sacrifices we
make when it comes to things like wet, long hair, but I’m as tired as Ethan is
tonight; so I am definitely not going to start in on any rants tonight. Rain never makes the fall festival more fun,
but as Ethan already mentioned, two out of three days are looking good; so I
won’t complain about that either – especially since Naomi and I have dates for
the festival; and will be able to talk the boys into doing activities in the
pavilions for most of the day on Friday if we need to do that – and then go on
the rides on Saturday and Sunday instead.
Okay, they’ll likely have to go on some
rides rain or shine on Friday or get razzed by the guys, but that doesn’t mean
that Naomi and I have to do that too if it is too-cold and wet on Friday. Weather forecasts have been wrong on a
regular basis, though, so maybe we’ll be ready for the worst and get better.
Stay tuned for that news, but I’m done for
tonight; out of here; and moving on to nap time.
