Ehlana and Ethan:
The local news of the day is that we got a lot of rain from early morning to late afternoon; and we’re okay with that for this time of year because it wasn’t snow. It was wet, though, so Tai Chi was indoors; we stayed indoors when not at school, home, or the Inn; and we kept entertained with our lessons, homework, and the game night fun with our family and friends. Ethan and I hosted the studying with our best friends; kept them for dinner with Mom and Dad and a group Magi lesson with Mom; and then we headed to the Inn for the first game night of the year. The gaming was our entertainment highlight of the day; we didn’t win any titles for the family tonight; and then we took Silkie for a walk on the way to seeing Naomi and Aiden to their homes because the rain had moved on by then.
Mom and Dad had some work to do in the office, but Mom didn’t want us to work too; so we only had a short visit with them before heading up to our rooms. Now we’re winding down fast toward nap time and we are tired; so let’s keep the world news report short and then call it a night.
Actually, there isn’t really any world news that we want to write about tonight. The Ukraine battle isn’t making the headlines while the killing and destruction rolls on with no end in sight. The Middle East is still a disaster zone with rotating waves of violence in too-many countries and lives and property being destroyed with no political care for the people being killed or hurt by the battles for power and resources. For not wanting to do this part of our report we’re managing to do a good job of starting a rant anyway; so maybe we should just go there while we’re verbally and telepathically doing that anyway. Yes, we do that regularly even when we keep the journal updates short; and we also cover the news from pretty much every country in the world. Ethan scans the news faster than I do, so he passes the details along as needed – or at least the highlights. Cassie knows languages better than anyone else in the world, but the languages we know are enough to get news from multiple and local-language sources. Our journal isn’t the place to write about everything, and there are archives for current world events anyway, but we should note now and then that we do the work.
Getting back to the rant, though, we are not expecting anything good from the majority of the current world leaders. Hoping for better doesn’t matter at all when the military-industrial complex appears to be firmly in control of our leaders and they want war and conflict because that is very profitable for them. News flash for all of those narcissists – peace and prosperity and love and joy is very profitable too – our family business and charities prove that every day. While I’m thinking about that; let’s also add that our family business is not involved in any weapons manufacturing, but we do also live in the real world; so we do have things like armed security when and where needed to protect our people and assets. Those resources are also rarely needed for using actual force; and that is always a last resort. Our leaders seem to be locked in on doing the opposite of that lately; and we don’t see a change in those choices happening anytime soon either.
We do see some quality nap time in our imminent future, though, so that’s all for tonight.
