Ehlana and Ethan:
Day three of our mid-terms is done – and so is our last day of studying for the last exams we have to write tomorrow! Aaron hosted our study session and dinner tonight, and we had fun with his family and our collective friends – though we missed game night at the Inn while studying and tutoring instead.
While we’ve been busy with our academic adventures, the local news is about the weather, and while we’re still waiting for the first big snow to arrive tomorrow night and into Saturday; the adults are getting prepared with supply shopping and making sure that back-up systems are ready if needed. Mom is doing that too – though she’s left checking over our back-up generator for Dad to look at after he gets home tomorrow. That, by the way is still on-track for an early return; so he will be home and able to do that by tomorrow afternoon. We’ll stay focused on the mid-terms until we’re done with them; and then we can move on to help if needed for the extra work by tomorrow night.
Ethan also has a mother-in-law-to-be birthday on the schedule for tomorrow, and there is going to be a party, but we are also going to be drafted to help out with some babysitting too; so we are going to have a very busy last day of the school week. That’s a good reason to wrap this up and get some sleep; so let’s do that. Cassie and Michael are already started on their Friday in Bangladesh; their Thursday work day was long and productive and challenging; and now they’re moving on again to the east and across the main river to the last region they’ll be working in for this trip – Lakshmipur. They’ll also have to go back to Dhaka on Sunday to get a flight to Myanmar and week two of their travel adventures, but we’ll have more on that when we get to that part of their story.
Let’s take a break from most of the world news. All of the same stories are still in the news today while the most-important problems in the world get ignored or shouted down. The situation in Ukraine worsens daily; the Palestinian genocide continues while the world isn’t even watching anymore; and the rising economic and social stresses around the world continue to rise as people everywhere get fed up with the never-ending exploitation by the rich and powerful.
