Ethan and Ehlana:
Happy 23rd Birthday, Tim!
We didn’t spend much time with Tim and Rowen, but we did see them and wish Tim a happy day; and we know that they did a breakfast vid-chat with Cassie and Michael too that included Tim opening his gift from them – a new gaming system that Tim has wanted since finding out that Michael got a new one to go along with the new house and family room entertainment system.
It has been another hot day, so while Tim worked for most of his special day and we might not want to know what Rowen has planned for him tonight; we opted for a lab or archives morning; and our afternoon has included a lot of swimming and trying to stay cool. We made a visit to the school to check in on the first day of football camp, but the only real news we have from that is to note that some of the guys in our grade are very interested in that this year – just as Michael and Tim were at our age. Kaitlyn did a couple of visits to the school doo, but that was entirely because Jeremy is trying out for the team again; and will certainly get picked – though he isn’t a star player. Then again, there haven’t really been any stars since Tim and Michael; and might not be again until we get a team good-enough to get back to the top of our small-school division.
Brianna and Faith had their afternoon ball practice too, but we only did a very short cameo visit; and know that they had a heat-shortened practice anyway. Ehlana and I were on our own when we came home in time to help Mom with making dinner; we enjoyed another quiet meal with Mom and Dad; and we’ve had a quiet work evening in the office because we want to get a lot done this week before closing in on the holiday weekend adventures – including the final week of our summer break. Mom did a Magi lesson with us too; time phasing helped all of us to get more done; and then we came up to our rooms at a bit after eleven o’clock.
Ehlana and I both opted for quick showers; we’re winding down with the twin chat fun and this update; and all that’s left for us to cover is the Cassie and Michael news.
They were in Nanning for just the day on Monday, and as they wind down toward the end of their trip; it seems as though their schedule is speeding up. They kept busy with meetings and just one site visit in Nanning; hopped another train for Liuzhou that still allowed them time to check into their hotel and enjoy a dinner before spending the evening getting ready for their meetings on their Tuesday that is already half-over for them as we write this report. They’ve been busy with high-level meetings all morning; they’re booked for a charity luncheon; and then they’ll be checking out a renewable energy farm and research facility that specializes in tech that can handle extreme heat climates. There is a community project to go along with the business operations; so they’ll be visiting it too; and seeing what more we can do for both the community and business projects. Another evening train ride is going to keep them out late on their Tuesday too; and that’ll put them in yet another city by the time they get to their next hotel sometime late Tuesday night – this time in the mega-city of Guangzhou. We’ll have more on that when we get the news, but that’s all we have for now; so we should wrap this up and get some sleep.
Stay tuned; since we are definitely going to keep busy – even with all of the heat that is making it tough for a lot of people in the area – especially anyone with outdoor jobs!
