Ethan and Ehlana:
We’re doing another early update; and this time it is because we’ll be at Aiden’s house for the night. The barbeque dinner last night was great; we had a lot of fun with our family and friends that included a campfire; and then our camping night was only weird thanks to attempted raids from Zack, Eli, and a few buddies that were camping at Zack’s place. There were other campsites set up with other cousins and friends, but we didn’t want to do a major event; and the co-ed camping worked for us!
Staying up late didn’t keep us from having a busy and successful baseball day. We’ll skip the details, but our family teams were five-for-five today; and all of our teams will be playing in the championship games on the holiday weekend. That’s also true for our favorite co-ed team, but they still have a game to go next weekend that will only matter for keeping their unbeaten streak going into their championship game. That’s basically all we’ve been doing today, and we’re only getting cleaned up and packed for our sleepover at Aiden’s – and it will be indoors because the heat wave has hit; and we choose to be cool tonight after a too-hot day. No news is required for the parents getting kid-free nights – including ours; so all we have left for now is the Cassie and Michael update.
Their final work day in Kunming on their Saturday included a site visit to another community project that includes housing, schools, and two businesses that support the people with decent jobs – this one in the lowlands region near Kunming. That was a big success; they’ll be doing more; and we all love getting to have a personal touch now after decades of only being able to help from afar through the family business. Sunday is a travel day for Cassie and Michael, and while they haven’t left yet; they’ll be moving on to Nanning – and back into a tropical climate that’ll be about as hot as it is here this weekend with a bit of extra humidity. They have work plans for the afternoon and evening too; so this will be another long day for them. The rest of their details can wait for our next report – as can our news from Aiden’s house. We want to get going and collect Naomi along the way, though, so that’s all for today!
