Happy 8th Anniversary, Jake and Stephanie!
As we’re writing this tonight, Cassie and Michael are enjoying a sightseeing day at the Beijing Zoo; and we wish that we could be seeing the Giant Pandas in-person too – along with the rest of the amazing exhibits at the zoo! We can also report that Cassie and Michael had a fun vid-chat with his brother and family this morning our time that included jokes about an anniversary house-swap gift, but that didn’t actually happen today – not even as an attempted practical joke. There is a chance that moving a room or two of furniture might have actually been attempted by some of our favorite pranksters might have been attempted, but this has been one of the hottest days of the summer around here; and too-hot to add that much work for anyone just for a few laughs.
Moving along, our day and new month began with Tai Chi and breakfast with Mom and Dad; we helped with a few chores around the house; and then we went to play at the lab or archives. That was fun for us – even if our friends don’t agree; and we stayed there until around one o’clock. Lunch was a picnic with Naomi and Aiden that included bakery treats donated by Aiden that he brought along after helping out at the bakery this morning. As mentioned, it was hot today, so we didn’t bike much; stayed near or in the river through until we needed to be at the park for the baseball practices and pizza picnic dinner. It was still very hot for playing ball, so the five o’clock practices were all kept short; that allowed for more time between practices for that meal; and then our team practices were shortened to about an hour – allowing us to get home a bit early.
Bath or Jacuzzi time was needed first tonight, but we still did some work and a Magi lesson in the office with Mom and Dad, and even with the help of a time phase; it is still getting late as we’re winding down toward nap time with this update and the rest of our usual bedtime twin chat and computing. We’ve had another happy day – if not on the level of an anniversary celebration; so we’re feeling good. It feels a bit strange to have another night in a row without sleepovers or camping, but our best friends are overdue for spending time with their own families; and we’re okay with resting up a bit from weeks of fun overload! We might get to have one more quieter day before we get back into a busier end to our work week, but while that could be true just because Zack, Eli, and most of their friends will be busy with a birthday party; we are also going to have another very hot day; and we only have the co-ed ball practice on our schedule to go along with another lab morning and play afternoon. We’ll let you know how that goes for us, but whether we have a busy or boring day coming up for us tomorrow; we’re ready to get some sleep now; so we’re out of here!
