Ethan and Ehlana:
***RESTRICTED ACCESS UPDATE***
We have news from China that Mom passed along to Cassie and Michael today because she found it through her new access to the Shen family and business computer systems. Shen Hu is dead, and while we can only speculate on the why and how; we suspect that he couldn’t live without his Magi power and with the ‘shame’ of his defeat. Mom also found out that his son, Shen Li, was taking over as head of their empire – even though he’s only nineteen; and probably doesn’t have the education, experience, or talent to lead a large corporation. We expect that his younger sister has worked out a deal with him to back him up with her Magi talents, but that is speculation too; since we don’t actually have very much information about her. While we also have no idea as to the level of her Magi talents, having any at all would be enough for her to take over as head of the family, so we’ll need to keep an eye on the Shen family; and hope that she won’t simply allow her brother to continue with the worst that their father has done during his lifetime. Cassie and Michael had no intention of confronting either of Shen Hu’s children while in China for this trip; and we all hope for better from his daughter while we’ll also be ready to deal with the worst if needed someday in the future.
***END OF RESTRICTED UPDATE***
We’ve had a rainy day, so while Tai Chi could still be by the river; we needed to drive to-and-from church – with the drive home happening with Mom and Dad and without Naomi and Aiden because they had other plans for the rest of the day. Our top entertainment of the day ended up being a lunchtime vid-chat with Cassie and Michael; and it was only an option because they got to their hotel in Chengdu shortly-after midnight; and needed to do some bedtime computing ahead of their first day of work in that city. They had fun with their day off; didn’t get to meet and talk with any monsters-in-the-lake; and their flight was long and a bit expensive, but necessary because they didn’t want to lose an extra day or more had they traveled by train again. That was only an issue because they’d have needed to backtrack a long way before being able to take a train to Chengdu, but geography and nature sometimes wins out even over the human need to build and conquer!
We enjoyed that chat a lot; helped with the clean-up; and then Ehlana and I got a ride to the lab so that we could play there for the afternoon while Mom and Dad worked in the home office. We didn’t have much company while there, but that usually works for us anyway; and we happily immersed ourselves into books or beakers until Mom came back for us at around six o’clock. It was nice to actually be at home for a Sunday night dinner, and while we love the buffets at the Inn; sometimes we have a few too many of them in a row and need a break. Since we didn’t help with the cooking, we cleaned up after the meal; Dad was finished his work by then and was ready for his week in the city; and we had a quiet visit with our parents before we all decided that an early bedtime was a good idea.
Bath or Jacuzzi time was next for Ehlana and I; we’ve kept our bedtime computing and twin chat fun short; and now we really are ready to crash and nap – especially since we’ll be up early to see Dad on his way to the city. We’re going to be busy while he’s away, but we’ll save the details for our daily reports. For now, we’re just ready to head off to dreamland – so we will!
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
