Ethan and Ehlana:
Happy 11th Birthday, Natalie Morris!
Ehlana and Naomi helped Natalie with her birthday celebration, but other than contributing to her gifts; Aiden and I were not at the party; and didn’t even see Natalie today. Ehlana and Naomi have reported that the girls collectively had an awesome afternoon and early evening, and while the change toward co-ed parties is beginning for our friends; girls-only adventures will survive the transition into our tween and teen years; and that’s especially-true whenever the girls feel the need for a break from guys. I’m glad that they had a lot of fun today; and will only add that Aiden and I were assured that we don’t want any of the girl-chat parts of the party details! Before we get into the rest of the news from today-so-far; let’s back up to the rest of the news from yesterday.
Once Naomi and Aiden caught up with us after school yesterday, we biked with our friends until dinnertime; the family-and-friends’ group was small this week; and the meal and movie time was fun and comparatively-quiet. After our guests left, we watched another movie in the lounge; had a little co-ed nap; and woke up when Cassie and Michael got home so that we could have a bedtime visit with them after helping to unload their car. After a very long day of classes, some T.A. work that Cassie needed to complete before leaving town, and the long drive home; they really wanted to crash and nap; so we all did that – with the two junior couples in the house resuming the co-ed sofa sleepover adventure in the lounge.
It was not warm this morning, so while we loved having Cassie and Michael with us for Tai Chi; it would have been better if it had been warmer and we could have done that by the river. The hot breakfast was awesome; and then we needed to get started on our chores – at two houses and the bakery. Cassie and Michael did not help us with that – they got started on visits with their combined families; and began that at the Inn. They also spent some quality time with Sierra until lunchtime; had that meal at the Inn; and then Cassie helped Mom out with getting Ehlana and Naomi to Natalie’s party. While the girls were busy, Aiden and I got together again; biked the trail toward Quarry Lake for as far as we could take it and back; and then we ended up having a Pizzeria pizza dinner with Mom, Dad, Cassie, and Michael when our favorite collegians offered to pick up food after their visit to the Pizzeria to spend some time with Rebecca and Jen. That was awesome; Aiden and I played some video games while Cassie and Michael moved on to some more visits with aunts, uncles, and cousins that ended with a bedtime visit with Sierra; and they’ll be home soon.
Ehlana and Naomi got home about forty-five minutes ago; Ehlana took first turn in her Jacuzzi; and now we’re doing this update while Naomi is taking her turn in the Jacuzzi and Aiden is opting for a shower before we’ll be doing a bedtime movie and chat time with Cassie and Michael once they get here too.
That’s pretty much all we have for now, and we need to get a couple of things done before we start the movie; so we’re out of here – and will have the last bits of news for you with the next report.
