Ethan, Ehlana, Naomi, and Aiden:
We’re at Aiden’s house tonight and enjoying a quiet evening; which works for us after a couple of very busy days. Let’s get to the news starting from the last update.
The trip to Crystal Springs was fun, but uneventful; we had time for a bit of shopping while waiting for three of the Malloys and one delayed departure from home to catch up with us; and then we had a fast food lunch at the mall. We headed for our favorite indoor sports-play center after that; had a blast while there for most of the afternoon; and then the kids got to have some outdoor park play time while some of the Moms went with Mom to Dad’s hotel so that they could freshen up ahead of dinner; meet up with Dad; and then catch up with us at the restaurant that Dad and Angela picked out for Mom’s birthday dinner. We – the kids – were at two tables while the parents took care of roasting Mom; and we were in charge of keeping Valerie and Marcus entertained while also getting them fed. Brianna and Faith helped out with Valerie; and Zack and Eli made it tougher for us to deal with Marcus thanks to their food games and prank attempts.
The dinner was a highlight of the day for us, but we also went out to the movies after that; and we always love the chances to see shows on the big screen; since we really don’t do that very often – especially over the past couple of years! The kids and tweens with a bit of parental support went to see the still-playing, latest Spider-Man flick while the rest of the adults went to see ‘Dog’; we all had fun; and then the goodbyes happened fairly-quickly; and then everyone heading back home hit the road while the Malloy’s headed to their own home; and Mom, Dad, Uncle Adam, and Aunt Leanne headed for the hotel – which will be their home-away-from-home until Sunday. We should note here that Aunt Leanne took her car yesterday so that their minivan could be used to get kids home again; and Naomi’s Dad drove our minivan home with a load of kids too.
Having three-fewer parents for the trip home wasn’t a problem because more than half of the kids napped for most of the trip. It was heading toward one o’clock by the time we got home, dropped off kids, and unloaded vehicles. We were at Naomi’s last night because of how late we got home, but while it was late; it still took a while before we were ready to get some sleep. Naomi’s parents also had Zack with Eli last night, but they only managed to bug us for a little while before crashing again for the rest of the night. We enjoyed some quiet cuddle-and-chat time while watching music videos; and it was around two o’clock by the time we got around to the co-ed sofa sleepovers.
We woke up to a rain day, and it was much cooler; so Tai Chi was indoors; we had a standard weekday breakfast; and then we took care of some chores after Liz headed to the salon and after we picked up Silkie after she spent most of a day with Sophia. After the chores, we decided to play at the lab for a few hours; took a picnic lunch along with us; and then we moved over to Aiden’s house by mid-afternoon before going on to the bakery for a few hours. Aiden’s parents put us to work for a while, but that was fun for all of us; and then we headed home at a bit after six o’clock. Dinner had been cooked in a crock pot, so it didn’t take long to get some sides ready and then sit down to eat; we followed that up with an early movie that Aiden’s parents joined us for; and then they headed for bed while we are getting started on a second movie that we might not stay awake for because we’re getting tired. Hailey is not here tonight – she’s with Leah, Brianna, and Faith at Leah’s house. Brianna and Zack are being ‘shared’ this weekend too; and tonight is girls’ night at the Ayres’ home while the Everetts get the boys. We’re happy to have another co-ed sofa sleepover opportunity instead, and since the weekend is looking good for the weather; we expect to have a lot of outdoor fun too.
That’s pretty much all we have for our news, but will add that Mom and Aunt Leanne had a spa day booked for today; Dad and Uncle Adam took them out to dinner and are probably just getting to the dancing part of their night – along with Terry and Angela; and the rest of the details for their adventures are not required by the kids in this room! We’re going to get back to the movie and cuddle time now; so that’s all for tonight!
Until next time, this little blast from your near or distant past is written for you with love from Ethan Proctor and gang – junior Magi Masters and Magi of the Light!
