Ethan and Ehlana:
We’re going to need to make this quick because this update is coming to you while we’re home to reunite with Mom and Dad; and get ready for the rest of our day at the fall festival.
Starting with yesterday morning, we went to school long-enough for the usual start-of-day stuff and then we collectively headed over to the park and got right to the fun! It was a bit strange to be there without Mom being a chaperone, but we still had aunts, uncles, and grandparents around to help keep an eye on us – not that anyone was worried about us getting into trouble. We did a round of midway rides first; moved on to the pavilions and farm-related activities that allowed us to get our school assignments done; and then we had time for a few more rides before taking a lunch break. Jaimie, Kaitlyn, and Jayden met up with us by then, but only Jayden stayed with us for a lot of the rest of the day while Jaimie and Kaitlyn moved on to hang out with Micah, Jeremy, and their friends. Jennifer Byrd was with us – and Jayden – from then on too, but then we were with our usual gang a lot of the time anyway.
Our afternoon adventures included a lot of extreme rides, games and prizes, two shows in the main pavilion, and lots of snacks, drinks, and food. We had dinner with our collective family; spent a couple of hours with our cousins and their friends; and then we split our evening play time between the teen dance and the midway. Jaimie and Kaitlyn were involved in two of the top teen drama stories last night, but that was in a good way, since while there are at least two disappointed local girls; our cousins are amazing; and the general consensus is that they are adorable, perfect matches for Micah and Jeremy. Yes, there are some guys wishing that they were Micah or Jeremy too, but let’s not take that news any further.
Moving along, we stayed at the festival until nearly midnight; Naomi’s parents took us home with them; and we didn’t get Zack and Eli because Aunt Leanne took them home with her instead – and saved Brianna by sending her home with Faith. Uncle Mark and Aunt Grace ended up with the biggest group of kids last night; since they had Jaimie, Kaitlyn, and Jayden with them too, but extra – or fewer – kids each night of the festival is normal as friends hang out together. Our night ended with a co-ed sofa sleepover and movie that we didn’t stay awake through to the end for, but we do have perfect memories; so that isn’t really a problem for us when re-watching movies.
Tai Chi in Naomi’s back yard this morning was awesome; we had pancakes and bacon for breakfast; and then we had an hour and a half of the usual weekend chores to do before we were set free to head back to the festival. It wasn’t really cold this morning, but that work time allowed it to warm up nicely; so hitting the rides again was great and got better as the temperature rose into the mid-eighties. There were more shows to watch, some competitions and races to either watch or join in on; and all of those cameo moments of fun were mixed in with lots of thrill rides and more festival games and food booths visits. We had lots of cameo moments with friends, family, and other kids and families that are visiting town for the festival; so there is no way to cover every awesome moment we’ve had so far today.
We knew when Mom and Dad were close to home, but used ‘normal’ tech to check in with them before heading over to the house to meet them and help with unloading the minivan. We’ve really missed our parents and they’ve missed us, but we’re all happy too and have had an awesome week; so our reunion has been happy too. WE got everything into the house; had a little visit and story time while doing that; and now we’re getting ready to head back to the park for dinner and the country dance and play time we still have ahead of us tonight.
The rest of our festival adventures news can wait for our next update – though we’ll add that Naomi and Aiden will be here for our third sleepover of the weekend; and we’ll have Jayden and Jennifer here with us for the night too. Stay tuned for that part of the story as well, but we really need to get going now; so, until next time...
