Ethan's and Ehlana's Journals - October 4, 2021

Ethan and Ehlana:

We’re writing this report from Grandma and Grandpa’s house tonight – and we’ll be here for three nights this week.  That works for us, since our grandparents are heading out on their first family business trip since before the pandemic started the day after Zack’s birthday next week.  That’s probably our top news of the day too, though we have had a happy, busy day.

Tai Chi in Naomi’s back yard was fun; so was breakfast with her parents; and then we headed for school after taking Silkie for a walk and then dropping her off with Grandma and Grandpa for the day.  Our academic adventures weren’t newsworthy, but the continuing nice weather allowed for bonus outdoor time; and then we opted for after school play time with our friends instead of working at the lab; and spent a lot of that time at the park because the first rides for the fall festival midway arrived while we were biking the trails.  They didn’t start any set-up work today – for the midway, but the local fall festival volunteers were at work all day with the usual prep work for running the power lines and the rest of that sort of jobs that need to be done before the pavilions and rides and games can be set up too.

We were ‘home’ in the for dinner; took care of the clean-up after we enjoyed one of Grandma’s home-cooked specialties and bakery pie for dessert.  Grandma and Grandpa haven’t done many Magi lessons with us since we were toddlers, but we made a Magi lesson part of our evening entertainment; and we can still learn a lot from them – and all of our local Magi; since they do have centuries of knowledge that wasn’t part of our archives records until Grandpa Grant and Grandma Eleanor began to help out with making that happen – work that is still ongoing and will take another decade or two to complete.  We played games after that; took Silkie for a bedtime walk; and now we’re winding down toward nap time.

That’s happening fairly-early for us, but that works for us too; since we definitely want to be rested up for the fall festival weekend.  Look for more on that soon, but that is all we have for tonight; so, until next time...
