Naomi, Ethan, Ehlana, and Aiden:
Ehlana’s enjoying her break from doing the writing side of their journals, but a girl’s touch now and then ought to be mandatory; so I’ll help her out with that tonight!
Our co-ed sofa sleepover at Aiden’s last night was as great as always; and Tai Chi by the river this morning helped to get our day off to a great start – especially for the two of us that have more-fun with those work-outs when we get to do them with our best friends instead of on our own. Ehlana is probably going to keep Aiden for more than the Olde Bakery treats, but that is a definite bonus for us; and we’re always happy to have bakery treats for breakfast when at his house.
Ethan and Aiden at least pretend not to notice all of the teen and kid drama at school, so instead of offering a report about our lessons; Ehlana and I will offer a social update instead. For the Proctors in the group, that starts with their Granite Park cousins; since Jaimie and Kaitlyn continue to get attention around here – particularly from the teen girls. The latest on that today is that Micah and Jeremy will be meeting up with Jaimie and Kaitlyn at our football team’s road game on Friday. There really are at least two girls that aren’t happy with Micah and Jeremy, but unlike with most groups of teens in our little town; the current group of high school students actually have extra singles like Micah and Jeremy that aren’t really interested in their current, local dating options. I can’t really relate to that, since I picked my guy pretty much from the moment I met him, but those stories regularly bring up jokes about those single teens needing to wait for their match to grow up – like Aunt Leanne needed to do; or have their matches move to town before they can meet them. It’s funny that Ethan and Ehlana’s family have examples for most of those alternate matches; and that might be why they don’t really even think about that sort of thing very often for our fellow students.
We should probably mention that teen and tween dating has pretty much returned to normal around here post-pandemic. That wasn’t quite the same here as in other places where the lockdowns kept teens apart and eliminated most dating options, but we do still have some mandated restrictions to keep up with for appearances even though that isn’t really necessary for any of us that have our special version of vaccine, and dates to the city and elsewhere are limited too; so teen dating life isn’t completely back to normal while close-enough that it feels like normal most of the time. We don’t need to get into commentary about the fathers around here that pretend to be disappointed or worried about their daughters and the return to dating normalcy. That isn’t a problem for us; and wouldn’t have been an issue even if we had been teens during the pandemic.
Ethan, Ehlana, Aiden, and Silkie moved their overnight bags over to my house after school; we went biking on the trails and at the park again with our friends; and then Dad opted for a pizzeria pizza night for dinner – in-part because we have Zack here with Eli. Yes, that was scary, and they were in top form all evening too, but we also had Zack’s family here for part of the evening while we worked on costumes and had some other Halloween-themed fun. We had a small gang of spectators for our music practice too, and Zack and Eli tried to bug us and throw us off while we played and sang too, but that didn’t really work for them; and we managed to have fun with most of that without getting too-annoyed. The Carringtons headed home by nine-thirty, and Brianna wasn’t really disappointed about getting her parents to herself for the rest of the night instead of being here with us – and with Zack and Eli. The rest of our evening has been pretty good; Dad managed to keep Zack and Eli from getting out of control; and now we have the family room to ourselves and we’re enjoying the co-ed cuddle time and wind down toward nap time.
That pretty much covers the news for today, so I’ll only add that I love Ethan – and Ehlana and Aiden; since we all need to tell our favorite people that more-often! There won’t likely be a near-future next time for me with Ethan’s and Ehlana’s journals, so, until they’re back with the next update...
...this is Naomi and the Phantoms; live from the hidden home of the Magi of the Light – and May the Magi Force be with you!
