Happy 10th Birthday, Paige Spencer!
Our friend went with a girls-only party; so our news for today diverged from shortly after-school until we got home from the Inn or party tonight. Before we get to that part of our day; let’s cover the news from the rest of the day we spent together.
After our co-ed sofa sleepover at Naomi’s house, Tai Chi in her back yard was chilly; we enjoyed a hot breakfast; and then we headed off to a busy day at school that for us included two tests and some extra work as we needed to do a bit of extra work to get caught up on modules that will need to be done by Halloween. While we were busy at school, Mom finished up her trip to the city and got home in time for a fast food lunch with Aunt Leanne. We pretended to be disappointed when we got home and found no ‘extra’ purchases that we could look through or help put away, but that show was more for our cousins; since we had Brianna and Zack with us so that they could stay with Mom while Aunt Leanne was busy at work. We’ll skip most of the news from Mom’s trip too – if only because parts of it weren’t passed along to us anyway. Mom had fun with the shopping; a night out with the Malloys; and a date night with Dad over the past two days. We are really glad that our parents had a happy kid-free break; and really don’t need to know the details for exactly why Mom is still so happy! ;^)
Our after-school visit with Mom was fairly-short; Ehlana got ready for Paige’s party; and then she and Naomi headed out while Aiden and I ended up going for a bike ride with Zack, Eli, and some of the usual guys in our group. It hasn’t been that warm today, so we only biked for an hour or so; came home; and warmed up with hot chocolate and some video gaming before Zack and Eli went home for dinner. Aiden stayed and had dinner with Mom and me; we did a Magi lesson after the clean-up; and then we headed to the Inn for game night. Aiden and I didn’t win any championships tonight, but we had fun even without our favorite girls; and Mom and Miranda won the senior championship to bring a bit of game night honor home for our families.
Mom and I got home before Ehlana did, so we did a bit of work in the office; we did a group bedtime chat and snack after Ehlana joined us; and she reported that Paige’s party was a hit with her girlfriends. Pizzeria pizza and Olde Bakery cakes were the food highlights; chick flick Halloween movies were used for the primary entertainment – two comedy-musicals; and Ehlana didn’t pass along any of the girl-chat news to me. Ehlana and I went with Jacuzzi or bath time after our snacks and drinks; and we just finished a short music practice. It is now getting late and we’re tired, so that’s all for tonight. We’ve had a good day, but we’re also looking forward to another good weekend and Dad’s return home. We should at least have a long nap started to be ready for those adventures, so we’ll get to that now; and, until next time...
