Ethan and Ehlana:
We were up early to see Dad off on his trip to Crystal Springs; followed that up with a nap; and then got started on our day with another chilly Tai Chi by the river and breakfast-for-three. Our school day included the standard educational adventures, but the gossip and kid-chats were more fun – especially with all things related to Halloween. Monday is also post-football analysis day too, and while we haven’t mentioned that at all for our school team; that is only because Michael, Tim, and their college team get more interest than our school team. That has everything to do with our favorite college team – this year – winning most of the time; and we aren’t going to offer any critique of our local team; since the success years with Kyle and Tim were the exception to the norm; and it isn’t fair to the current players to make the comparisons at all. We can and will mention that our team has a winning record so far this season, and while that won’t get them into the playoffs; they also won’t end up with a losing season either – even if they don’t do as well through to the end of the regular season.
Moving along, the teen and kid gossip was mostly about Halloween and dance match-ups; and two of our cousins are getting some attention because they might be in town for the dance and Haunted Halloween Walk. Micah and Jeremy are getting attention for those potential dates, and for now it seems as though the girls that haven’t been happy with Jaimie or Kaitlyn have conceded to the reality that the boys they like aren’t going to be available – unless the long-distance dating thing doesn’t work out for them sooner instead of later. We’re not even getting razzed this time about having dates with Naomi and Aiden for all of our Halloween events, but we’re also still the only couples from among our group of friends; so we don’t expect there to be any group date nights anytime soon.
Maybe the fact that dating is happening for this Halloween season ought to be one of the stories as we move beyond the pandemic, but to be honest; we’re just not thinking about that sort of thing very much; and enjoying the return to near-normal. That isn’t happening everywhere, and we do keep up with all of the Covid-related stories and news, but while we can help out whenever possible through the family business; we also won’t obsess over the problems in the world that we can’t fix; and need to keep the joy, happiness, and love in our lives. Some people might suggest that we wouldn’t be able to do that if our circumstances were different, but we don’t actually think that would be true, since wherever we were; we’d still have control over our lives; and we’d still always choose love and being happy regardless of any challenges in our lives.
That’s a bit too-deep for a Monday; so let’s move on – again.
The weather was decent today, but instead of going out to play with our friends after school; we opted for lab or archives play time. Mom came over to hang out with us too; we had a picnic dinner in the archives; and didn’t come home until shortly before ten o’clock. We were all happy with the work we got done today, and didn’t get a lot of sleep last night; so that was pretty much it for us – except for getting ready for bed and getting together for our nightly twin-chat, surfing, and this update. Our week is going to get a bit busier now, but we can write about that over the next few reports; and you can always flip ahead to read all about those adventures while we still need to get some sleep and then live those moments. We’re ready to get started on that nap time now; so, until next time...
