Ethan and Ehlana:
***RESTRICTED UPDATE***
We’ve had a ‘dumb and dumber’ Halloween, and that might be funny if it hasn’t been so stupid and dangerous.
For Cassie, Michael, Rowen, Tim, and everyone on their plane – including the entire football team, cheer squad, and support staff – that meant a follow-up attack directly from Gwyneth while in-flight. Gwyneth attempted that attack from home – possibly to prove that she could do something that Corwyn had failed at with our parents. Thanks to some foresight and having two Magi Masters with best friends’ support, Gwyneth’s attack was a total failure; and nobody on the plane or anywhere else even noticed because our favorite Magi on that plane stopped Gwyneth with no damage at all to the plane.
While they didn’t have additional problems from their gang of goons; the bad guys that Gwyneth had sent against us last night apparently couldn’t take defeat with humility and grace. They came back tonight and tried to abduct us – and Naomi and Aiden – while we were out trick-or-treating. Add in another attempt to torch our house and attack Mom and Dad; and you can imagine how we felt about the whole plan as we got the advanced warning while the split group of goons was still on the way back to town. To be fair, we did collectively use our Magi talents while defending ourselves in ways that weren’t visible to our attackers, but they are supposedly experts; so we’re okay with sending them off believing that they were bested by four kids and two country bumpkin parents.
While we were amazing, it wasn’t possible to completely avoid getting some attention from the people around us, so while we could do something about what the non-Magi remembered – or didn’t; we’ve once again had a situation where some of the Magi in town know at least some of what happened tonight. We’ll leave it to Mom, Dad, and others to deal with those issues; and be glad that we were able to keep everyone safe. Mom and Dad arranged for more help to once again ‘take out the trash’ once that was possible; and we won’t feel bad for the bad guys while they spend some quality time recovering from their injuries. Maybe the break from their jobs will encourage a reflection on their choices in life – if getting their butts kicked by four kids hasn’t already convinced them that a change in careers would be a very good idea! ;^)
Everything is quiet again here at home; our favorite collegians are back at their townhomes and safe too; and we’re going to hope that this kind of excitement is finished for the rest of the year as we get started on a new month and holiday season.
If Gwyneth doesn’t get the hint, though – and we’re sure that she won’t; we’ll be ready for whatever she throws at us next.
***END OF RESTRICTED UPDATE***
Happy Halloween!
This ‘holiday’ always feels a bit different when it falls on a Sunday. That wasn’t something we paid attention to early this morning because we were too-busy with the rush to get a gang of kids and teens fed and ready for church. Most of us were also tired from a too-late night, but we still had a gang for Tai Chi by the river; and then the rush was on after that through until we got to church. It might seem weird to some church congregations to embrace Halloween, but that is an accurate word for our Halloween service and Sunday school classes today; and we all had a lot of fun.
Uncle Mark and Aunt Grace hosted a family lunch; we had a family-and-friends’ play afternoon; and then our cousins headed home because they have school tomorrow while Uncle Blaine and Aunt Alison are staying until Monday or Tuesday so that he can deal with local work before heading home again too.
We did not go to the Inn for the Halloween buffet dinners – mostly because that is very popular with the families that come to town for trick-or-treating. We had Naomi and Aiden with us for a snack dinner; and then we took our Naomi and the Phantoms ‘show’ on the road. The parade that we did instead of going door-to-door worked better for our act, but we offered song clips at every door; and probably got a lot of extra treats for our efforts. Brianna, Faith, and the other kids that opted to hang out with us believed that too; since staying close to us worked out for them too!
We eventually came home after filling two bags with treats each; and we’ll be good for our candy supply in the lounge until Thanksgiving – unless Zack and Eli come over to help us out with depleting our stock sometime over the next few weeks.
After a long day of too-much fun, we needed bath or Jacuzzi time after doing the fun recap with Mom and Dad; we needed to deal with some chores after that; and now we’re past-ready to get some sleep.
A break in the action would be nice as we head into November, but we need to get some rest before starting out on our next adventures, so instead of speculating about the week ahead; we’ll just wrap this up and get to the napping part of our day.
Until next time... this is Ethan and Ehlana Proctor; live from the hidden home of the Magi of the Light – and May the Magi Force be with you!
