Ethan and Ehlana:
Grandma and Grandpa left for their first family business charity trip since cutting their last one short at the start of the pandemic; and the cooler weather and rain are not likely due to their departure – even if that has been joked about around here today! ;^)
Let’s get this update started with the rest of the story from yesterday. Zack’s party didn’t really feel like one at the start as we went biking on the trails and watched the rides being taken down for an hour or so before heading back to his house for the actual party. He picked pizzeria pizza for his birthday dinner; and didn’t complain too-much about the side dish offerings that included some healthier choices to offset the pizza and bakery desserts. We were on younger cousins and friends care duty most of the evening, but that worked out fairly well; since that also left us on the edges of the ‘fun’ that Zack, Eli, and their buddies were most-interested in doing to keep everyone entertained. Aiden and I didn’t escape the gaming after dinner; and would have preferred to join in on the clean-up; since that was an easier job! We were also drafted for the sleepover – in-part to help out with keeping Zack and his friends from staying up all night with their gaming and other antics. We succeeded in that mission; and won’t comment on the rest of the party and sleepover adventures; since we’re sure that most readers at anytime in the now or distant future don’t need to know those details – or about what some Magi kids will do to hone their ‘normal’ reputations.
Moving along, Ehlana ended up hosting a girls’ sleepover last night; and she had Brianna, Faith, Leah, Hailey, and Naomi with her when they left Zack’s party at around eight o’clock. Ehlana assures me that they had more fun than I did; and I have no doubt that a kid-rated Halloween movie and mini-makeover was better for them – even if I wouldn’t be interested in getting my nails or hair done while gossiping about pretty much anything that Mom, Aunt Leanne, and Aunt Deborah might get the girls talking about while having their play time.
As for today, mine started well-enough when Aiden and I went to my house to join in on the Tai Chi workout; and then we had a crazy-busy blast between then and the start of school thanks to Zack’s ongoing ‘fun’ before, after, and during breakfast. We had rain falling by the time we went to school; and it stayed wet all day – which is why we went to the lab to work after school. That was fun; we got home late for dinner; and our evening entertainment has included a Magi lesson; family business work in the office; bath or Jacuzzi time; and just a bit of music fun that we just finished with a few minutes ago. We’ve both had a long day and not enough sleep last night, so that’s all for this report; and, until next time...
