Ethan and Ehlana:
Happy 17th Anniversary, Terry and Angela!
Happy 14th Birthday, Ryan Bassett!
Happy 21st Birthday, Serena Kendall!
We dropped off a family gift for Ryan before leaving town yesterday; didn’t have anything to do with Serena’s special day – though Cassie and Michael did through sending a gift and having a video chat with her; and we had a blast at the anniversary party!
We’re also really tired; so this is going to be a short double-update.
We headed to Crystal Springs in time to arrive for lunch at our favorite mall food court; did some shopping after that; and then headed to the hotel. Mom only booked one room for the four of us, and while we were happy to have the five-star co-ed sleepover; we were advised that the rules will change once we hit our tween years – as in next summer. Naomi spent some time talking about plans to bypass those rules; and is sure to invoke older sibling precedents far-sooner than Cassie set them! ;^)
Moving along, we had time to go for a swim; went out to dinner and a movie with Mom, Dad, and the Malloys; and then we wrapped up our night with that co-ed sleepover – after watching a movie and enjoying some quality cuddle time after Mom and Dad returned to their room for the night. Tai Chi by the pool for six was awesome; we followed that up with breakfast at Dad’s favorite diner after packing up and checking out; and then we headed for the Malloy’s home. We were drafted to help out with the pre-party chores and work; had a snack lunch; and then the party was on for the afternoon. We mostly played with the other kids – including a lot of swim time; the barbeque dinner was early and amazing; and then we were on the way home by early evening. Terry and Angela are getting a kid-free weekend thanks to grandparent babysitting services; and we won’t be writing about anything we might hear about the rest of their anniversary entertainment.
The drive home was uneventful; Naomi and Aiden were dropped off on the way to our house; and we’ve just wrapped up an hour or so of post-travel chores – including Jacuzzi or bath time that most of us needed after a hot, active day. The extra heat today has a lot to do with why we’re tired tonight, but it is going to get hotter through the coming week; so we’ll save up commenting on the heat wave until sometime next week.
That’s enough for tonight, and we really do want to crash and nap now; so, until next time...
