Ethan and Ehlana:
The first day of July has been awesome so far, but we’re also very busy; so this will be a short update.
Our top news of the day has been the early arrival of some of our cousins for the holiday weekend. Mom and Dad semi-surprised us with the news that Uncle Blaine, Aunt Alison, and their kids were coming early so that Uncle Blaine could deal with some local work projects – including the galleria. Chris and Sadie came with them so that they could work with him; and they arrived in time for lunch with us. While that is the top news story, it also meant that we had to work on chores today too. The weather is much-better; so that work included mowing the lawn and the rest of the outdoor chores that we would normally have on the weekend. That kept us busy until an hour after lunch, but then we’ve had the rest of the afternoon off to hang out with our cousins and friends.
While we went for a bike ride with a fairly-large gang and went for a couple of swims, we also got approval for the first camping night of the holiday weekend; and just finished setting up a bunch of tents by the river too.
We’re only on a break to get cleaned up and pack overnight bags for the tents; so the rest of our news can wait for the next report. The only news we should add now is that we had a blast last night at Naomi’s house. Her parents opted for a pizzeria pizza and sides dinner; we played and watched movies all evening; and stayed up too-late while enjoying the co-ed cuddle time before eventually getting around to our sofa sleepover. We also didn’t have any Zack and Eli problems because they weren’t home last night; so that was awesome too. They will be among the cousins camping with us tonight, but we’ll hope that they’ll be on their best behavior; and let you know if that hope doesn’t work out for us.
We really do need to get back to the fun with our families and friends now; so, until next time...
