Happy Mother’s Day to Mom – and all of our favorite mothers!
Happy 1st Birthday, Gregory Denninger!
We’ve done our very best to help all of our favorite Moms out with having a happy day, so while this hasn’t even been the most-exciting day of the weekend; we are happy too as we’re getting ready to crash and nap for the night.
Mom had a day off from all work today, so after starting our day with some gifts during the morning wake-up call and Tai Chi; we helped Dad with cooking breakfast and the clean-up after we ate and had bonus fun thanks to our video chat with Cassie, Michael, Rowen, and Tim. They really wish that they could have been here for the weekend, but with exams starting tomorrow; that wasn’t an option. We don’t really need to mention that they’re ready for those exams and will ace them; so let’s move on.
The church service was Mom-friendly and fun for all of us; we did Mother’s Day crafts in our Sunday school classes; and then we made up a snack lunch so that we could all save space for the buffet dinner at the Inn. While the weather wasn’t very warm, we still had some outdoor biking and park play time; followed that up with some cuddle-and-a-movie time; and then we eventually headed to the Inn for the last buffet of the day.
Jacob and Miranda went with four buffets today due to the overwhelming demand now that they can put them on again, but we opted for the last buffet so that the friends and family that had stores to work at could join us after they closed up those shops for the night. We ended up having that meal with Grandma, Grandpa, Zack, and Brianna – with Naomi and Aiden included in that ‘we’ just as they’ve been for most of the day since we got to church. Grandpa’s travel stories kept us entertained for most of the meal time; and we still had our parents nearby for some Mother’s Day fun because they were at the table next to us.
Our Mother’s Day fun wrapped up as we came home for the night, and we didn’t do any studying or work in the office tonight either. Dad still had lots of work to do, but Mom sent us upstairs for bath or Jacuzzi time; and we’re also now fairly-sure that she helped Dad out with some extreme time phasing because he isn’t working anymore; and we don’t need to know what they’re doing now since coming up here to say goodnight to us! ;^)
Ending this report on that note is weird, but we don’t really have anything else to add tonight. We want the extra sleep to get ready for another busy school week with all of the baseball that has been added to our schedules. That will definitely be more-fun than Cassie’s exams week – especially when she’ll also be grading a lot of exams and final assignments this week too; so we won’t be complaining about being too busy. We’re also really getting excited about having Cassie and Michael home again, and that’s definitely a happier thought to head off to dreamland with now; so, until next time...
