Happy 8th Birthday, Rebekkah Burroughs!
Happy 1st Anniversary, Reid and Lily Spencer!
It has been a wet day around here for everyone – including the friends and neighbors celebrating special occasions; so most of our adventures today were indoors. We do need to cover the news from last night, though; so let’s back up and start from there.
Dinner with Mom, Dad, Naomi, and Aiden was quiet; we watched a show after that while waiting for our favorite collegians to get home; and then our reunion seemed very short because we basically helped with unloading the car and carrying bags up to two bedrooms and had a short chat before Cassie and Michael headed over to Jake and Stephanie’s house to spend some time with Sierra before her bedtime. Hopes for a longer visit with Cassie didn’t work out for us either, but we did try to have a movie and chat time in the lounge that continued without Cassie when she fell asleep before we were fifteen minutes into the movie. Michael only lasted a bit longer before crashing too; and then May opted to go to bed soon after her friends were out for the count. We watched the rest of the movie with Naomi and Aiden so that we could still have the co-ed couple time; and then ended up getting to have our co-ed sofa sleepover too because Michael woke up for long-enough to carry his wife to their room for the rest of the night. No additional information is required for us about anything that might have happened with them while he tucked her into bed for the night! ;^)
Moving along, Tai Chi was indoors thanks to the rain; we drove to church and back; and that was where we had our only involvement in Rebekkah’s birthday and Reid and Lily’s anniversary fun. We were in on a family gift for Rebekkah, but only Cassie and Michael were in on a group friends’ gift for Reid and Lily.
The rain really was an issue for entertainment today, but we got to have Cassie, Michael, and May with us for lunch; they took us along for a first visit to Rebecca and Lucas’ new home out on the family farm; and then it was time to share them again once we got home because Cassie and Michael were booked to take care of Sierra while her parents were busy with the buffet dinners at the Inn. We helped out with some of that babysitting, but did our own thing with Naomi and Aiden for a while too; and then we met up with a large gang of family and friends for the late buffet at the Inn. You won’t be surprised to learn that Cassie and Michael were very popular during that meal; we didn’t spend any time with them while at the Inn; and instead kept entertained by hanging out with our friends, cousins, and the rest of the kids in our group.
Cassie and Michael have still been busy with his family since then, but we came home; have had a quiet evening with just Mom, Dad, and May here; and we’re going to be off to sleep early while playing normal kids for May’s benefit. We’ve just finished with bath or Jacuzzi time; and this update is being written in my room while May has taken over Ehlana’s bathroom. That’s also pretty much all of the news we’ll have for today; since we don’t expect to have more than a bedtime visit with Cassie and Michael – if they get home before we’re in nap mode. We might wait up for them, but we’re also ready to move on from this update; so, until next time...
