Ethan:
Take yesterday; change up the morning to
Tai Chi and breakfast for three instead of four; switch the baseball practice
for bonus play and biking time with my friends; and add in a camping night for
Aiden and me that is at his house and gives Mom and Dad a kid-free night.
That’s my news of the day. Aiden’s already sleeping; I’m ready to crash
and nap now too; so I’m going to do that – starting right now.
Ethan – out!

Ehlana:
Our travel adventures include some chores
and shopping, but Naomi and I have had fun doing the ‘work’ with Michael; and
we’re also having lots of play time too.
Today, the entertainment included wedding supplies shopping, which we’re
doing a bit at a time; another picnic lunch with Cassie and her friends; more
play time at the rec center; and then an evening at the home of one of Cassie’s
new study buddies.
I’ll take a little break here to mention
that Cassie’s summer session friends are a very different group compared to her
freshman year, but everyone we’ve met is also really great; and it’s only a bit
strange to see her working with women ranging from a Mom with teen kids to younger
adults that are only a couple of years older than Cassie and Michael. Tonya Tope is the Mom with the teens; and we
were at her house tonight for dinner and their now-weekly study session. Tonya’s daughter, Lysa, and her best friend,
Michelle, were put in charge of entertaining Naomi and me while we were
there. They’re great; we had a lot of
fun; and we’re glad that we’ve gotten to meet them. We like all of Cassie’s study friends too;
though most of them are a bit busy this week with their mid-terms; and
more-focused on that than meeting a couple of kids.
Dinner was a pot-luck deal, and Naomi and I
helped Michael with our contributions; so that meal was, of course, totally
awesome! Cassie had fun even with all of
the studying she was doing, but we definitely had more fun playi9ng at the
nearest park with Lysa and Michelle, and while the guys were stuck with the
post dinner clean-up; they came to the park too. Tonya’s son, Joss, and his best friend,
Randy, wanted Michael to toss a football around with them because they’d been
impressed to hear that Michael has won three state championships with his high
school team. Ross, Tonya’s husband, came
along; and teamed up with Michael against the two younger teens. We, the girls, didn’t really hang out with
the boys while they played with the football, but Naomi and I did notice that
Lysa and Michelle watched Michael a lot – and appreciated the view – while playing
with us.
The study session didn’t wrap up until
eleven o’clock. We were all in the house
by then; and some of us watched a show while Michael was busy gaming with the
guys. We headed for the townhouse after
the round of goodbye hugs and kisses; we had a bedtime snack; and then Cassie
had more work to do before she could head for bed. Naomi and I haven’t gone straight to bed, but
can’t stay up that late either; which is why we’ll be sleeping by at least an
hour or two before Cassie and Michael will be ready to head up to bed.
We have more shopping booked for tomorrow –
including with Cassie tomorrow night after she’s finished her mid-terms for the
day. I doubt that Ethan and Aiden would
find that very exciting, but Naomi and I love getting all of the bonus mall
time this week; and Michael does make sure that we have fun along the way –
even with the wedding supplies we’ll continue to pick up tomorrow. Cassie needs to be with us for picking out
gifts for their wedding party and other honorarium gifts for their wedding; and
we’re sure that will be a lot of fun too.
Add in a couple of picnic meals at the college, and even with the exam
studying; I’m sure we’ll have another awesome day.
We aren’t staying up as late as Cassie and
Michael, but this is still later than normal for us for most weeknights; so
that’s all I have for tonight.
This is Ehlana Proctor; coming to you live
from what is now my past!
