Ethan and Ehlana:
Happy 14th Anniversary, Uncle Adam and Aunt Leanne!
Congratulations to Paul, Vanessa, and the Sparks clan – it’s a girl!
Pauline Sparks is the newest member of our town; and likely does not care that Ehlana and I weren’t there to welcome her! Uncle Mark and Aunt Deborah took care of the delivery, but that wasn’t related to Uncle Adam’s anniversary – Uncle Mark has been Vanessa’s doctor since sometime during the first year after he started working at the clinic. We did a breakfast vid-chat with our aunt and uncle – along with Cassie, Michael, Aiden, and Sophia; and that was a fun bonus to our morning before we got going on our tours of Arlington cemetery and the major national monuments in the city. The weather ended up being great; we’ve had an amazing day; wrapped up the afternoon with a faster-food dinner at a burger joint; and then we had another walking tour tonight before returning to the hotel where we went for another swim and then met up here in the room that Aiden and I are sharing for another round of computer checks and a wind-down chat.
The news of the day includes an escalation between India and Pakistan with ‘real’ fighting including missile strikes and escalating threats. I’m not going to get into the war or tariffs stories tonight because I actually think that one of the big stories of the day is news from China that they’ve solved all of the problems with developing Thorium-fueled nuclear reactors and apparently now have a fully-functional Thorium test reactor that is more-efficient than uranium-based reactors, puts our more energy, has less waste, and best of all, it can’t be used to create nuclear bombs! Their test reactor is small, but that’s a good thing too; since they could be built anywhere and support towns or cities without any danger. Oh yeah – I should have added that Thorium reactors also can’t have melt-downs! Why that isn’t the biggest story in the world is crazy, but before we move on, I’ll also add that Thorium reactor theory was developed by our country, but abandoned in the nineteen-sixties because it couldn’t be used for making nuclear bombs too and deemed less-useful because of that. I’m sure that China appreciates having all of that research left in the public domain; since they will have companies that should make trillions over the next century or two!
Moving along, that’s pretty much all we have for today. We only have one more day left in the big city – though we’ll be out of town while doing our historical sites tour. Yes, we’ll give Naomi and Aiden a bit of alone time first, but we’re tired; so it won’t be long until we crash and nap, so that’s all for tonight!

Our night did not end as planned! This is a bonus update because after Aiden and I went to bed; we were woken by a squad of eight goons that tried a room invasion on us. The bells and whistles went off early-enough to warn me and I woke Aiden and we got ready to fight; so the bad guys were not prepared when we were not in our beds and prepared to fight them. We had three of the guys down before help arrived from Cassie, Michael, Ehlana, and Sophia; and since they surprised the goons from behind; the fight ended within moments – or that part of the fight ended. We were shielded and linked by then, so we all knew by then where Gwyneth was hiding; and ready to defend ourselves when she took out her anger over her brilliant plan falling apart by blasting us. We ended that shockingly-fast too; scared Gwyneth when we stopped her and then left her surrounded by another power-blocking shield; and then we had another little chat while sending her off with her goons. That required getting all of them out to their SUV’s or limo, and Gwyneth shared a fair bit of hate for us, but that was fairly-entertaining and we were feeling pretty good by the time we said goodbye to her.
Yes, Ehlana, I will report that Gwyneth thought that Sophia was with me since she stayed by my side after the fight, but then Gwyneth was also angrier when I advised her that I was still matched with Naomi and would be forever. No, I do not want to know why I was picked for this attack – especially since we know that the plan was to abduct me. We do not know why Gwyneth doesn’t understand that she can’t do things like that without us getting warned in advance – and I’m including Ehlana and Cassie for that ‘us’ and that’s true for Mom too.
That is it – hopefully; so we are out of here – again; and now we just need to try and get some sleep before we’ll be up again and on the go tomorrow!
