Ethan and Ehlana:
Happy 12th Birthday, Kendra Byrd!
We hope that Kendra is continuing to have a happy day, but other than a group gift and best wishes while at school; we weren’t involved in her special day.
Our own top news of the day for the family is that Grandma and Grandpa are home from their adventures in the sunny and warm south – though they actually arrived from the west after doing a bit of traveling on the way home. They didn’t get in until a little while ago; so we only had a little visit with them while helping to unload their bags and gear. Ehlana and I went there from the lab after spending the afternoon and evening there after school. We took a picnic dinner with us; had fun with beakers or books; and got a lot done again – for the last time we’ll have to do that until after the holiday weekend. Grandma and Grandpa were tired after pushing through to home; so they’re likely already sleeping by now.
We came home with Mom, did a Magi lesson with her; had a late vid-chat with Dad; and then bath or Jacuzzi time seemed like a good idea after a long day and the work at our grandparents’ home. The computer checks and twin chat time has kept us busy; so let’s get to the news of the day. There is more proof today that changing government leaders changes nothing. All of the hype about cutting government is proving to be nonsense as a new bill making its way through congress would add five trillion dollars to the government debt – probably in addition to current debt projections for the spending already in place. So much for hopes to see a balanced budget! Add broken promises for fiscal responsibility to the list of disappointments so far this year! All conflicts and wars continue without any end in sight; and the rhetoric isn’t even peaceful anymore as diplomacy degenerates into nothing more than threats. There is talk about strong defenses, but the golden dome project is incredibly-expensive nonsense; and we’d do more for peace if we took that money and just helped to take care of the poorest people in the world – and here at home! News flash – our country is far too large to protect everyone with missile defense systems! Even if we could do that; what will we give up to make that happen? Will there be anything left worth defending if our infrastructure and cities fall apart from neglect?
Okay, that’s enough for tonight. Cassie and Michael will be home tomorrow and then we’ll all be busy with the holiday weekend, so we need to have a nap and get ready for all of that fun! Stay tuned; since we are hoping for another amazing blast of fun and adventures with many of our favorite people!
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
