Happy 25th Birthday, Stefan Reardon!
Our holiday weekend started with lots of fun as we welcomed our weekend guests to homes or cottages – even when that meant dealing with work in the rain. We had a good dinner; and then our evening included hanging out with family and friends before wrapping up with a co-ed sleepover for some of us – including for Ehlana and me with our favorite cuddle buddies!
Today started with Tai Chi by the river for some of us; the teens in the house helped with the cooking and cleaning for breakfast; and then we were drafted to keep the next-gen kids entertained this morning with some park play, canoeing, and biking on the trails. We had a family-and-friends barbeque lunch; and then our afternoon activity was a trip to the Ridge River Ranch for a trail ride or corral adventure. The younger teens and a few of the older kids got to do that ride together and we only had our two trail guides for supervision while the parents and young adults split up for the other rides or to help with the younger kids that couldn’t ride with us yet. We all had fun while at the ranch; and now we’ve split up so that most of us can get cleaned up and ready for the rest of the day.
For Ehlana and me, we’ll be helping with more work around dinnertime; and then we’re hosting quite a few of the kids and teens for gaming and a movie – or two. We’re doing this update now because we’re expecting a co-ed sleepover again tonight for at least some of us – though we’ll have to let you know how that goes for us; since that might not be an option if the guys like Zack and Eli take over the lounge and want to play video games all night. For now, though, we need to go and help with the dinner set-up work; so that’s all for today.
