Ehlana and Ethan:
***RESTRICTED UPDATE***
Cassie and Michael have confronted and defeated another Dark Magi Master today at his Mediterranean coast estate near the Algerian capital city of Algiers. They’ve told us that this was the toughest fight they’ve had so far, and Ibrahim Taher, the patriarch of the family that rules northern Africa, was awful and there were fatalities among his fighters and estate staff. Those deaths were at his own hands or due to crossfire from other fighters; and even the lowest members of the staff were forced to fight by their master. Cassie advised us that Ibrahim had new-to-us uses for his Magi abilities that went far-beyond mentally forcing his people to fight until they died or couldn’t fight anymore for other reasons; he did the same with his extensive range of ‘pets’ that included attack dogs, venomous critters, and even a pair of lions that were all sent against Cassie and Michael. Ibrahim had some successes along the way to his defeat, since Cassie and Michael were each injured multiple times and needed to co-heal themselves, but they eventually fought their way through his extensive defenses; the final battle must have been awesome to see; and Ibrahim needed some Magi-powered medical attention to keep him alive because he’d fought to the point of being powerless to even sustain his own life.
Cassie and Michael will have all of the details for this fight in their various archives, but we’d like to mention here at least a few of the more-interesting uses to which Ibrahim applied his Magi talents. He apparently loved using mental illusions to hide real dangers on his estate; there was a battery of very modern weapons that he controlled telepathically, and the ways that he mentally controlled his fighters was horrific and brutal. With that in mind, it is a bit of a challenge to hope for the best for someone who has been so evil for most or all of his life, but that is why we’re the good guys; and we need to be that way towards our enemies because that is what is expected of all Magi of the Light.
Finally, for now, Cassie and Michael know that Ibrahim’s family will continue to be a dark power and influence in northern Africa, but as always; their efforts to defeat the Dark Magi will continue; and we can’t defeat them all at once; so we’ll take the wins and be thankful and grateful. That’s all for this story for now, but we’ll add more if needed or as we get new information that will mostly come to us now through Mom and the new tech connections that Cassie and Michael have gotten for us into the Taher family computer systems that are both for personal and corporate networks. At the rate Cassie and Michael are going; Mom is going to need to have help soon just to keep up with all of the work that will be needed to keep up with monitoring all of those Dark Magi networks and data!
***END OF RESTRICTED UPDATE***
It’s Friday and game day for the first round of the football playoffs! Our team has drawn Grand Summit and they are one of the top teams; so we’ll be hitting the road soon and heading to their town for the evening. The weather is decent for this time of year and it is going to be around fifty and clear for game time; so we’re feeling pretty good as we get ready to go – and get the lounge and our rooms ready for the co-ed sofa sleepover we’ll be hosting with our four best friends after the game and whenever we get home again.
Our school day was good too, but not newsworthy; so the best parts of our day will need to be written about tomorrow; since we don’t plan on doing any major computing for the rest of the day. There also isn’t really anything else we need to write about for our own stories; so let’s wrap this up and we’ll move on soon. We should mention that Cassie and Michael have made their way to the north of Algeria; they’ll be working in and near the capital city of Algiers through the weekend; and might find a bit of time for fun and sightseeing while on and near the Mediterranean coast. We’ll keep you posted on their travels, and they still have more than a week to go in Africa before they start to work their way home again; so we will continue to hope for the best for them with what is turning out to be one of their most-challenging trips so far.
Thankfully for us, we don’t have to deal with any of the dangers they’ve had over the past few weeks – even if our team manages to beat the odds and win over Grand Summit on their home field, but we’ll hope for an exciting adventure; and have those stories for you with our next report.
Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
