Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - November 7, 2024

Ehlana and Ethan:

Happy 3rd Birthday, Sophie Denninger!

Happy 24th Birthday, Marcie Sheldon!

Congratulations, Marcie and Allen White – you’re engaged!

We haven’t had anything to do with either of those birthdays, but have heard that Sophie’s family and friends have helped her to have a good day; and we’ll guess that Allen has made sure that Marcie’s birthday has been a best-ever-so-far thanks to that engagement ring gift!

As for our day, you can guess that I’ve been fired up all day thanks to my research breakthrough; so our academic adventures were fun while at school; and then Ethan went along with me for another play-work session at the lab or archives.  He also needed to nudge me into going home for dinner so that we could also go to game night instead of staying and working half the night again; he succeeded; and we had fun with Mom, Dad, and our family and friends with the games.  Aiden and I won the junior title too, so I’ve been teased about that too, but nobody should be surprised that I was fired up tonight and that helped our games-play too – not to mention that Aiden got teased for all of the hugs and kisses I shared with him that might have actually added up to more of them than Naomi usually shares with Ethan.

Going to the Inn also gave Mom the chance to order a comparatively-early bedtime for us, so we didn’t even do a Magi lesson tonight after getting home from seeing our friends to their houses while taking Silkie for a bedtime walk.  Ethan had me keep the computer checks to a minimum too, but then the post-election news still tops the media cycle anyway; and we’re continuing to hope for a quiet reaction to the Trump and Republican victories as the transition period begins and continues through and up to inauguration day in January.  It is too-early to know what impact this election will have on world events, but we can hope for better there too if our leaders actually do manage to look for peace instead of more war.

We really should catch up on our sleep tonight ahead of our football Friday and the weekend – especially when we’ll be supporting our friends and team for their first playoff game since Michael and Tim graduated from high school.  We will hope for the best there too, but our team is the underdog; and advancing beyond the first round might be too much of a challenge for our team.

We’ll have those stories for you when we can get to them – and that probably won’t be tomorrow, but we’ll get there eventually, and since that’s all we have for tonight; we’re also out of here and off to nap time starting right now.

Until next time, live with love, fellow Magi of the Light!
