Ehlana and Ethan:
Dad’s birthday dinner and party was a total success, and while we put in a fair bit of work; we had fun too – including with our respective co-ed sleepovers at Naomi’s or Aiden’s homes! Mom had a full house for that meal and into the evening; all of the usual birthday fun kept us busy along with the actual meal and evening entertainment that we hosted for the kids and teens in the lounge; and then Mom and Dad were left on their own when the rest of us left for other homes or alternate destinations. Ethan had more fun than I did with his sleepover with Naomi – as usual; and I don’t mind that; since Aiden and I have as much fun as we’re ready for so far and don’t need to follow the leaders.
Aiden and I were on our own for Tai Chi by the river while Naomi and Ethan opted to exercise in her back yard; our respective breakfasts were standard school day fare – which included bakery treats at the Draper’s home; and then it was time for our academic adventures – after the morning weight training for the boys that they might take a break from soon after our football season ends. Our adventures at school weren’t newsworthy – though that is our opinion and partially because we did not enjoy the election day lessons when we don’t think that it will actually matter which of the main two parties win the various levels of government positions up for votes today. Ethan and I had fun with our school band practice; with the top news there being that we got the music we’ll be using this year for Christmas parades, concerts, and parties. We were on our own when we came home from that practice; dinner was an easy-meal; and then we’ve been working in the office since then while keeping up with the election results as they’ve happened so far.
The work on our parts of the family business and charities has gone well and we’ve gotten a lot done without the time phasing since we can’t speed up election results with a time phase anyway; and doing good with our work offset the political nonsense from both sides of the two-party aisle tonight. As we’ve mentioned fairly-often, we don’t have any confidence in any national politicians, but it looks as though President Trump is going to win tonight for both the popular vote and in the electoral college votes; so we’ll hope that our incoming leaders will shock and surprise us by actually doing things that would be for the best of everyone in our country and the world.
Yes, that’s probably too-much to hope for, but it’s late; we’re tired; and we’ll find out how that story goes for all of us over the next months and years; so going to sleep now won’t change anything about that future – so we will.
Stay tuned, since there will likely be more on that election story to follow in the coming updates, and we’ll go have a nap now because we can and need the nap time before we get back to our regularly-scheduled life in the morning.
