Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - November 29, 2020

Ehlana and Ethan:

Happy 20th Birthday, Rowen!  We didn’t get to share in Rowen’s special day beyond seeing her a couple of times, but Tim and her family and best friends have done their best to make her day a happy one – even though she also had to head back to school again too.

This is the first day of the holiday weekend that hasn’t felt at least similar to normal for us, but that had more to do with the need for early family departures and the lack of the special buffets at the Inn than anything else.  The travel plans for some of our collegians required return flights, but while Jonathan and Savannah were responsible for the first outbound group; there were also new parents wanting to leave early for best travel times with their babies; and the entire Stone family left straight from the church – after the early service that we attended.  Having two morning services at church was a change too, but that was to still allow for some social distancing with all of the extra guests – a plan that also included using the reception hall and a video feed of the sanctuary for more seating.

The guests at our house were with us for lunch; and we had two sets of grandparents, Violet, and Dillon with us for that last blast of family time.  Cassie, Michael, and May were part of that ‘us’ too, but then they also got packed up along with the rest of our guests; met up with Rowen and Tim; and hit the road for their townhouses and apartment by a bit after two o’clock.  Mom and Dad drafted us for some chores after that, but we’ll be heading over to Naomi’s house soon for the rest of the day and a sleepover.  Aiden will be there too; and we’re going to share the tree-trimming fun with Naomi’s family.  We haven’t been writing a lot about the ‘what’ we’ve been doing this weekend, but those details would make for a long report that might just be boring anyway to future readers, and as always; it is sharing the adventures with the people we love-most that matters anyway.  The Christmas decorating, movies, and cuddle time last night – and the co-ed sofa sleepover – were all really great last night; and we are sure that tonight will be just as awesome at the Seagers’ home.

We still have a few things to get done before we head over there; so let’s wrap this up.  Ending an awesome holiday weekend report with bad news doesn’t sound like fun at all; so we’ll wait another day to do another pandemic update or write about other news from around the world.  How great would it be if fixing all of the problems of the world could be that easy – just by having awesome weekends for everyone?

Making that happen is part of what the Ascension of the Light is all about, so if we’re lucky; that’ll be a dream that has already happened by whenever you’re reading this in our future! ;^)
