Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - November 16, 2020

Ehlana and Ethan:

Happy 13th Birthday, Kaitlyn!

Our cousin’s entry into the ranks of the teens wasn’t an earth-shaking event either here or in her home city, but it has been something we’ve thought about today – even if we didn’t get to share in her special day beyond a breakfast-time video chat.  Kaitlyn is only about three-and-a-half years older than us, though; and we’re becoming more-interested in the precedents that are being set by our older cousins.  Cassie’s a fairly-amazing act to follow for younger siblings; so our older cousins might come in handy once we’re in our teen years! ;^)

Moving along, our day began early with seeing Dad off on his trip to the city; we had some quiet cuddle time with Mom and Silkie after that; and then we were on the go again starting with a chilly Tai Chi workout by the river.  We had a hot breakfast; Mom had a gang at the house for our home-school day; and we had fun together – even with Zack and Eli around to offer their occasional annoyances.  We were set free for the day by a bit after two o’clock; and we went biking on the trails for a couple of hours.  That was fun, but not eventful – there wasn’t even a single crash; and only a couple of mini-fights between Miles, Joshua, and the usual girls they like to annoy the most.  Naomi and Aiden came back with us for a short music practice, but then they headed for their homes in time for dinner; and we had an easy-meal with Mom before getting to work in the office for the evening.  Our Magi lesson and ‘real’ studies kept us busy for a couple of hours – along with some video chats with Dad, Cassie and Michael, and others; and now we’re ready for an early bedtime – at least compared to normal.

Let’s not get into any other news tonight – we can do that another day this week.  We’re really just looking forward to Friday anyway; since Cassie, Michael, and May will be home for a week and the Thanksgiving holiday.  Mom is going to have extra fun with a visit to the city, but we’ll just make our way through the next four days and then get started on the next round of holiday adventures.  We’ll still manage to keep entertained – starting with a sleepover tomorrow night at Naomi’s house, but we can write about that over the next couple of days.  It’s time to get some sleep now; so that’s all for today.  Early mornings catch up on us now and then too; and this is one of those times.
