Ehlana's and Ethan's Journals - November 28, 2020

Ehlana and Ethan:

We’re doing another early update because the rest of our day is booked solid; and we probably won’t have time to do this later – or we’ll just be too-busy with all of the fun! ;^)

The top adventure for our day so far has been the ‘surprise’ trip to our favorite Christmas tree farm.  That is being done quite-differently from normal at the farm, but while we had a large group of family and friends with us; Mom also booked times and tickets; and each group visiting the farm was socially-distanced from the others – whether out on the hay ride and picking out trees or taking turns visiting the Christmas store.  We had a blast, but there were time limits for each activity too; so we were done and on the way home after about an hour-and-a-half of holiday fun.

While there was work to do once we got back to town, the adult and teen guys dealt with the tree deliveries and set-ups; the women handled the lunchtime meals at many of those same homes; and we were on kid control with some teen support; keeping the younger cousins out of the way while the work was going on.  The weather warmed up to the mid-fifties again today; so outdoor play time kept us busy for a couple of hours after lunch.  We were part of the biking groups too, but also helped out around the park and playground; so we had some extra time with Cassie, Michael, May, and the group of Michael’s cousins that they brought to the park while his grandparents, aunt, and uncle took a nap break.

We’re on a break now – partly because Naomi and Aiden are at their homes and refreshing overnight bags for another sleepover.  Our kid and teen cousins will be elsewhere tonight – at least for the sleeping part of their plans; so Naomi and Aiden are here so that we can all spend some time with our favorite collegians before they head back to school again tomorrow afternoon.  Our dinner will included a larger group, and we’ll have extra guests for the tree trimming this evening, but then we plan on some quiet cuddle-and-movie time in the lounge after the rest of our guests either head out for the rest of the night or stay in – as will be the case for Uncle Rick and Aunt Melissa.

That’s pretty much all we have time for right now, so we’ll wrap it up; and get back to the ongoing holiday fun and adventure!

***RESTRICTED REPORT***

This is just a quick note that is only restricted because it isn’t news that even most Magi in town know about yet.  We have our first home town case of coronavirus.  The official results won’t be available until Monday or Tuesday, but Uncle Adam is sure; and the person that we won’t name here is already self-isolating along with immediate family.  Due to the timing and information we have so far; this patient contracted Covid-19 from a visiting college guest; since the incubation time is longer than works for visitors that have only been here since Thursday or Friday.

We’ll have more on this next week, but having our first case here will affect everyone; since we’ll want to contain the outbreak – and especially do our best to protect our seniors and anyone else at high-risk of getting seriously-ill from this virus.  Helping with Magi healing may be an option if needed, but we hope that won’t be necessary; since miraculous cures would be noticed.  For right now, though, the plan is to leave the medical treatments to the doctors in the family; and only intervene with our Magi talents if we have any serious cases.

Having cases here was inevitable, so we aren’t surprised; and will continue to hope for the best for everyone as we continue to deal with the pandemic.

***END OF RESTRICTED REPORT***
