Ehlana and Ethan:
We’re home tonight; our best friends are
back with their own families; and our visiting cousins have moved on too.
Today ended up being a bit strange, since
the risk of strong storms in the region had us changing our travel plans so
that the driving could be done ahead of the bad weather. That required an early clean-up of our campground;
the cousins got packed up and ready to go; and then the parent-drivers headed
out with them for the mid-way meet-ups with their parents – and we had all of
that done by mid-morning. Naomi, Aiden,
and the rest of our collective friends moved on after that too; we were busy
with chores at home for the rest of the morning; and then we headed for the lab
after lunch while Mom was traveling and Dad wanted to try and get all of his
work done in the office ahead of his trip to the city tomorrow.
We’ve loved all of our play time so far this
summer, but were glad to get back in the lab or archives. Research on the coronavirus has continued
without us, and we’ve kept up with what Uncle Adam and Dillon are doing, but
while we’re learning a lot; progress on solutions is not happening – at least
compared to the news stories around the world suggesting that vaccines are just
around the corner. That isn’t something
we’re going to spend a lot of time commenting on, and wouldn’t dream of
suggesting that other researchers won’t come up with effective treatments or a
vaccine; since that should be likely to happen when other labs have far-more
resources available to throw at the problem.
We are worried about the risks being taken with cutting corners, though;
and history is on our side when it comes to how badly that can end.
Moving along, we played at the lab all
afternoon; went home for dinner in time that we could do that and then still
get to the church for the evening service; and then it was time for a Magi
lesson with Mom ahead of bath or Jacuzzi time.
It has seemed very quiet with just the four – or five – of us in the
house, and while we’re thinking about that; Silkie is seriously-ready for a
break from all of the busy. She has
gotten a lot of attention from our cousins and friends over the past two weeks;
and she’s tired out! So are we, and we
also need to be up early to see Dad out on his trip to the city; so we’re going
to wrap this up and go get some sleep.
Life will get quieter tomorrow, but stay tuned; since we do still expect
to have a lot of fun; might work in more time at the lab and archives; and we’ll
also get to have Cassie, Michael, and May home again for a while too – after Cassie
gets done her exams in a couple of weeks.
This is Ehlana and Ethan Proctor; live from
the hidden home of the Magi of the Light – and May the Magi Force be with you!
