Ehlana and Ethan:
We’ve had an awesome day-so-far thanks to
our canoe trip to the whirlpool. Jaimie,
Kaitlyn, and Kara were in charge for our outing, but they had help from other
friends – including Micah and Jeremy; and Patrick and Jessica just happened to
be going to the whirlpool too with Ryan, Sophia, and the rest of their
group. Our trip upriver began by nine o’clock;
we reached the whirlpool by eleven-thirty; and played there for nearly three
hours before paddling back home – and doing that more-quickly thanks to having
the current with us and despite the fact that some of us were getting tired by
then.
The teen drama stories won’t be covered
here in any detail, but Uncle Blaine might have valid reasons to be worried
about the home town boys that are most-interested in his little girls! ;^)
It’s a bit funny that we don’t think of
that the same way from Dad’s perspective unless it gets joked about, but his
little girls are rather fond of two of our home town boys too.
Moving along, we got home from the
whirlpool; the teens and boys have dealt with most of the work getting extra
canoes and gear put back in the storage barn; and we’re now getting cleaned up
for another socially-distanced group dinner and another camping night at our
house. We really are tired out from all
of the sun, water, and exercise; so this will likely be a quiet evening and
night; and we’re planning on a quiet play day tomorrow too. That’s all we have for the local news, but
Cassie is back to her digital lectures and classes again; she’s doing that and
the studying that goes with it with some friends at the townhouse or elsewhere;
and Michael and May are dealing with chores like shopping while she’s been busy
today – and taking care of her too. They’re
also going to be getting May set up for an off-campus apartment for the fall
semester between now and the end of the month while Cassie’s busy anyway; and
they might be lending a hand for the off-campus living for some of their best
friends too – like Stefan and Madelana.
Thinking about back-to-school at all in
mid-July is probably against the rules for kids and teens; so we won’t do
that. It’s nearly time for us to get
back to the real world again and the pre-dinner activities that will likely
just be junior kid control for us tonight; so we’ll wrap this up and go do
that. We really have had a happy, fun
day with our cousins and friends; and we’re grateful for that – especially this
summer when just being able to enjoy simple pleasures isn’t an option for the
tens of millions of people directly-affected by the pandemic.
We really do keep thinking about that and
working on the problems while busy with our summer play days, but we don’t have
any solutions, and if we actually did have anything really promising to work on
at the lab; we’d find a way to be there and doing that day-and-night
instead. You’ll be the first to know if
that changes – or the last; depending on how far into our future that you’re
reading our journals. It really is time
to get back to our family and friends, though; so we’re out of here.
This is Ehlana and Ethan Proctor; live from
the hidden home of the Magi of the Light – and May the Magi Force be with you!
