Ethan:
This has been a very quiet day for us;
though we’ve had fun too. Our
entertainment started with Tai Chi by the river and breakfast time that
included a video chat with Cassie and Michael.
At church, we’ve moved into the usual fall tradition of themed teaching
series; and those messages and lessons are co-ordinated for everyone from the
Sunday school classes through to the weekly sermons. Our afternoon was spent working in the office
or at the lab and archives; we had dinner at the Inn; and then wrapped up our
evening with a movie in the lounge ahead of bedtime baths.
That might not seem very exciting, but
Ehlana and I love playing in her lab and my archives; so we’re very happy
tonight ahead of our next week at school.
Maybe that ought to be the news of the day anyway – that we’re this
happy even when we’re spending most of our time working and studying instead of
playing. That also sounds like a good
note to wrap up this report on; so I will.
Ethan – out!

Ehlana:
I can agree with that, and don’t have
anything to add for our news from home; so I’ll only add a couple of comments
about our chat with Cassie and Michael.
First, I want to mention that we only had
Cassie and Michael on that video chat; and that’s a change for this school year
because they have breakfast on their own more-often than not – though they do
still have breakfast with Rowen and Tim once or twice a week too. My point here, though, is that marriage and
living as couples has changed that dynamic for them. I’ll also mention that Cassie’s studying with
her friends is evolving as they get further into the fall term. That’s likely inevitable, and isn’t a
problem, but her need to focus on her own assignments and projects with her
third-year classmates leaves her with less time to tutor her Sophomore friends;
and they’re helping her out with that by calling on her for that help
less-often while they’re still all studying together.
Their play time is, apparently, more-fun
now with the mix of new friends added in – including the older friends. I don’t know whether that’ll be a trend that
lasts for years or not, but hearing stories about Tonya and Ross going out with
Cassie, Michael, and the rest of their friends has me picturing them in a few
years doing that – along with their own college-age kids!
It could be that I need to get to sleep
sooner instead of later when my thoughts are wandering around like that, so I’ll
call it a night; and hope that those ideas won’t follow me into dreamland. I do not need to picture Mom and Dad going to
college parties with Ethan, Naomi, Aiden, and me thanks to another precedent
set by Cassie and Michael! ;^)
This is Ehlana Proctor; coming to you live
from what is now my past!
