Ethan:
Aiden and I had fun last night with his
family; and there were six of us because Hailey had Leah with her for a
sleepover too. We had his Dad watching
us until his Mom finished closing the bakery for the day; helped with making
dinner to have it ready when she got home; and enjoyed that meal before moving
on to our evening entertainment. It had
been a long work day and week for the parents in our group; so our fun was
games and a movie; and then Aiden and I played video games in his room until we
crashed and slept for the rest of the night.
Tai Chi by the river was only with the two
of us; breakfast was fun; and the guys did the work while the girls played
dress-up for church. I stayed with Aiden
during the first part of the Sunday service; we were with Ehlana, Naomi, and
our friends for Sunday school; and then Ehlana and I went home with Mom and Dad
while our friends were busy with their families for the rest of the day. Dad needed to get back to getting ready for
his week in the city, so Ehlana and I played at the lab for most of the afternoon;
went for a bike ride at the park after that; and then we were home in time to
help out with dinner-for-four. Since
then, we had fun with that meal and chat time; worked and studied in the
office; and then packed up early thanks to some time phasing and took Silkie
for a bedtime walk before coming upstairs for our bedtime baths.
There has been a lot of work this weekend,
but we’ve had fun too; so we’re ready to get back to school again in the
morning. That’s all the news I have for
tonight, though, and we need the rest now so we’ll be ready for the early
wake-up call ahead of Dad’s trip; so I’m going to wrap this up and get to the
napping part of my night.
Ethan – out!

Ehlana:
My sleepover night was a bit busier than
Ethan’s – mostly because Naomi and I had to deal with Zack and Eli all night.
Okay, not ALL night – only for all of the
time they weren’t sleeping.
I don’t want to go into the details, but
the two boys might have been having a Groundhog Day issue; since they seemed to
think that Friday the 13th should be more than a one-day event. That was a theory we had fun with, but to be fair;
Zack and Eli were only being slightly more-annoying than usual; and that might
have simply been because they haven’t had the chance to bug us this much
often-enough. There are, by the way, no
hidden motives for the way they act around us – like younger sibling and friend
crushes. They just like getting us mad
at them; and they’re very proud of their reputations as prank and jokesters.
We had a late dinner too that started
shortly after Naomi’s Mom got home from the salon, but instead of cooking; her
Dad opted for ordering pizzeria pizza that her Mom picked up on the way
home. I won’t go into that blast of
scary food fun with Zack and Eli; since I wouldn’t want anyone to get sick just
from the re-telling. We went over to the
park after dinner for some play time because Zack and Eli might have bounced
through the walls at home if we’d stayed thee all evening. That play time didn’t tire them out or slow
them down; so they continued to annoy us during the bedtime movie; and then
Naomi and I had to deal with them for hours after we were sent to bed because
they wouldn’t give up on their jokes and pranks even with ongoing parental
intervention.
Naomi and I dealt with that as usual;
watched music videos on her computer; and had fun with our extended girl
chat. The boys did get some sleep – so we
did too; and then the only differences between my day and Ethan’s was the Tai
Chi for two in Naomi’s back yard; another scary food adventure with Zack and
Eli at breakfast; and my play time in the lab this afternoon while Ethan was in
the archives. I’ve just wrapped up my
long soak in the Jacuzzi; and now I’m ready to get some sleep while I can.
Finally, I can report that Cassie and Michael
have had a good weekend. They had study
group sessions both days; a night out with their friends for dinner and fun at
the rec center; and church this morning.
They’re having a quiet evening at home too – or at least they’re having
fun with just the two of them after getting their work done for the
weekend. I won’t add any details for
that anymore than I’ll do that for Mom and Dad’s kid-free night, and don’t have
anything else to add; so that’s if for this update.
